Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Lukashevich affirmed that the new route is the first result of the Strategic Partnership announced by the two countries during the State visit of General Secretary To Lam in May 2025. According to Deputy Minister Lukashevich, the relationship between Belarus and Vietnam is developing very positively in the political and economic fields, in which both sides are very interested in promoting tourism development. The opening of the Minsk - Phu Quoc route will contribute to realizing this potential for cooperation.

In addition, Mr. Lukashevich also pointed out that Vietnam's policy of 30-day visa exemption for Belarusian citizens has opened up great opportunities for Belarusian people to explore a beautiful and hospitable country.

Speaking to the press, Ambassador Nguyen Van Trung emphasized that the launch of the first direct flight is a historic milestone and the first concrete step to implement the agreement between the two countries' senior leaders during General Secretary To Lam's State visit to Belarus. The Ambassador affirmed that with its tradition of hospitality and many world-class tourist destinations, Vietnam always attracts tourists from all over the world to explore and experience. Vietnam attaches great importance to developing tourism with Belarus to contribute to promoting people-to-people exchanges and strengthening solidarity between the two nations.

For his part, Mr. Gleb Parkhamovich - First Deputy General Director of Belavia - affirmed that flights to Vietnam are among the airline's top priorities and the launch of the route is important to Belavia's operations. However, the airline will not stop at Phu Quoc but will also consider other resort destinations in Vietnam for future charter flights, especially when Belavia has added many modern Airbus A330-200 aircraft to its fleet.

Tourists can book tickets through travel packages provided by Belarusian travel agencies. A representative of the travel agency AeroBel Service - the unit booking the charter flights - said that all tickets for flights until March 2026 have been sold out and the number of visitors to Vietnam during the 2025 - 2026 tourist season is expected to reach nearly 10,000.
