More than 12,000 people try their hand at the Dat Sen Hong Marathon

TPO - On the morning of October 12, in Cao Lanh ward, Dong Thap province, more than 12,000 people participated in the 2025 Dat Sen Hong Marathon, with 4 distances, from 5-42km. The race route goes through typical landmarks, bearing the cultural imprint and typical landscape of the land of the Mekong Delta with the specialty of Sen Hong.

Thousands of runners excited before the start time.

Runners compete in 4 distances: 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km. The race route passes through famous landmarks, bearing the cultural imprint and typical landscape of the Red Lotus land such as: Van Mieu Square in Cao Lanh ward, Cao Lanh Bridge across Tien River, tree-lined roads, and vibrant central streets with the colors of the West.

The race course has been certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), providing an international-class playground. The total prize value is over 200 million VND.

Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan - Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee said that the tournament brings a professional sports playground, a large-scale sports - culture - music - cuisine festival, contributing to promoting the image of Dong Thap to become a prominent tourist destination in the Mekong Delta region.

In particular, the 2025 Marathon is the first major cultural event to be held after the merger of Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces. “The race is not only a physical competition, but also a symbol of solidarity and progress, an important milestone in the new development journey of this land rich in cultural and historical traditions,” Mr. Tuan emphasized.
