On the evening of October 11, within the framework of the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi, the international national costume show called Heritage Footsteps attracted the attention of the audience with nearly 100 traditional costumes with diverse colors, materials and patterns.
The special highlight of the show was the appearance of the wives of ambassadors of various countries in Vietnam in traditional ao dai from the Heritage of Vietnam ao dai collection by designer Anh Thu. The wives of the US Ambassador, the Japanese Ambassador, the Ukrainian Ambassador and the Czech Republic Ambassador walked the catwalk together.
Mrs. Suzuko Knapper, wife of the US Ambassador, wore an ao dai inspired by the image of the majestic Grand Canyon (Arizona, USA), a natural symbol and heritage of the land of the stars and stripes.
Ms. Indira Gumarova, wife of the Czech Ambassador, presented an ao dai embellished with bohemia garnet (a famous gemstone of the Czech Republic), with touches of traditional jewelry and Vietnamese art.
Mrs. Yuki Ito, wife of the Japanese Ambassador, wore an ao dai design made from a traditional obi (a wide belt of a kimono), combining the essence of kimono and Vietnamese ao dai.
Ms. Iryna Gaman, wife of the Ukrainian Ambassador, wore an ao dai with a sacred tree of life motif, symbolizing the connection between generations and humanistic values.
In addition to the costumes specially made for the ambassadors' wives, designer Anh Thu also introduced ao dai designs inspired by the music of musician Trinh Cong Son, Bat Trang ceramic motifs, conical hats, lotus flowers...
In the picture, Miss Vietnam Photogenic 2000 Tran Bao Ngoc plays the role of vedette in the Heritage of Vietnam collection by designer Anh Thu.
Another equally outstanding ao dai collection is Nguyet Hoa by designer Ha Trinh. Each design resembles a flower under the moon, carrying the elegant appearance of the people of Trang An, combining ancient and modern features.
In the photo, actress Quynh Nga and MC Thanh Van perform designs that blend heritage and contemporary beauty, honoring the gentle yet proud beauty of Vietnamese women.
Actress Quynh Kool appeared in an outfit by designer Ha Trinh. She wore a Phuong Vu ao dai , inspired by the intersection of light and heritage, where the beauty of Vietnamese women is honored in every movement of the ao dai, between the breath of tradition and the spirit of modernity.
Designer Ha Trinh keeps the spirit of the classic ao dai, transforming it with puffed sleeves, stylized collar, and soft layers of pleated skirt on chiffon and silk.
Designer Vu Viet Ha's Hanoi in Hanoi collection was inspired by the landscapes and people of Trang An over hundreds of years. From suburban weaving villages, suburban embroidery villages, to the image of Trang An girls in paintings by famous Vietnamese artists in the 1930s, all are delicately recreated on each Ao Dai flap.
Designer Vu Viet Ha not only honors the beauty of Hanoi but also sends a message about green fashion and sustainable fashion through materials.
Designer Nguyen Mi's Van Yen Weaving Collection was inspired by the image of drifting clouds in ancient paintings, ancient pottery and ancient shirts. Cloud motifs - a symbol of nobility and longevity - became the main highlight, expressing the aspiration for beauty in traditional fine arts.
Designer Nguyen Mi skillfully preserves the shape of traditional costumes while at the same time bringing in a contemporary feel. Using silk, chiffon, and brocade, the designs are both solemn and intimate, connecting the past with the present.
The Thang Long - Time Marks collection by designer Minh Pham uses luxurious color blocks and Bao Loc silk material. The collection features performances by ambassadors and their wives, along with musician Giang Son.
After the Vietnamese Ao Dai performance, 19 other countries also introduced costumes associated with their national history and culture such as traditional costumes of Indian girls, dresses of Indonesian women...
There are also young Lao people with their special occasion costumes, Malaysia with its cultural harmony, Mongolia reflecting the nomadic lifestyle, Myanmar blending aesthetics and climate, Saudi Arabia with its neutral colors.
The United Arab Emirates showcased costumes symbolizing royalty, Angola with vibrant colors, Cuba with tricolor festive costumes, Mexico with natural shades, Morocco showed off exquisite craftsmanship...
The first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi, taking place at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Center on October 10-12, marked a record number of participating representative agencies. This demonstrates the strong attraction of Hanoi as a cultural convergence center, where civilizations meet and spread noble human values.
Within the framework of the festival, the charity auction and donation program received a strong response, raising 2.5 billion VND to transfer to localities affected by floods to support the reconstruction of houses, schools and civil works.
