Report to the Government and 2 Ministries on the implementation of the 3rd runway of Long Thanh airport project

On October 12, according to information from the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the contractor consortium is mobilizing more than 283 engineers and workers with 127 motorbikes and equipment for the construction of the 4.12 package - construction of the second runway at the Long Thanh airport project.

Package 4.12 was started on May 30, 2025 by the consortium ACC - Truong Son - Vinaconex - Vinadic - ACJC647-Khanh Thien-VTG.

Currently, the joint venture contractor is simultaneously implementing the construction of the roadbed, foundation, drainage... striving to basically complete the roadbed, foundation, cement concrete work before December 19, 2025; ensuring synchronous completion with the passenger terminal project and putting it into operation in June 2026 according to the required schedule.

As for package 4.6, construction of runways, taxiways, and aircraft parking lots at Long Thanh airport, the joint venture contractor has mobilized 2,084 personnel and 319 pieces of equipment to carry out the construction. Up to now, the runway has basically been completed.

On September 26, 2025, Long Thanh airport officially welcomed the first calibration flight, with the calibration flight being deployed as planned, marking an important technical milestone in the basic roadmap to complete the project before December 19, 2025 and operate in the first half of 2026.

Package 4.6, constructed by the consortium of contractors ACC - Truong Son - Vinaconex - Vinadic - Cienco4 - ACJC647, started in August 2023 with a construction period of 23 months. The progress was then adjusted to complete and technically operate the runway before April 30, 2025 (3 months earlier than the contract).

Component Project 3 - Essential works in the Airport under the Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project Phase 1 invested by ACV including 14 packages.

The scale of phase 1 of the project includes 2 runways, 1 passenger terminal and synchronous auxiliary items with a capacity of 25 million passengers/year; 1.2 million tons of cargo/year.

The project has a total investment of more than VND99,000 billion, basically completed in 2025 and put into commercial operation in the first half of 2026.

At the same time, implementing the Prime Minister's direction, ACV has submitted Document No. 4219/TTr-TCTCHKVN dated September 24, 2025 to the Government, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Construction to immediately deploy the third runway and phase 2 of Long Thanh International Airport (Long Thanh airport) in accordance with the provisions of law.
