In Khanh Hoa province, Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company (HHV) has promptly deployed measures to prevent and respond to natural disasters. Since the second quarter of 2025, the unit has established a Steering Committee for flood and storm prevention and search and rescue, assigned personnel to coordinate with local forces, and fully prepared materials, equipment, and human resources according to the "4 on-site" motto: on-site command, on-site forces, on-site means, and on-site logistics.
Since the end of September, HHV has proactively repaired and reinforced the peeling and muddy road surfaces on National Highway 1 through Khanh Hoa (Km1374+525 - Km1392+00 and Km1405+00 - Km1425+500) and the road leading to Deo Ca tunnel. At the same time, the drainage system and canals were dredged and the flow was cleared; vulnerable locations at risk of landslides were promptly reinforced.

Mr. Vo Ngoc Trung, Deputy General Director of HHV, said that proactive maintenance before the rainy season is a key factor in minimizing damage and protecting the national traffic infrastructure. The unit also always aims to ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles in all extreme weather conditions.
Similarly, in Dong Nai province, the Department of Transport of Dong Nai province is also implementing a plan to inspect and repair key routes such as National Highway 51, National Highway 1A, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and bridges in the area that show signs of damage due to heavy rain. The local transport sector is coordinating with maintenance contractors to increase pothole patching, fix muddy road surfaces, and check the drainage system to avoid flooding and ensure smooth traffic during the rainy season.
According to a representative of the Dong Nai Department of Transport, currently, patrol and road inspection teams are operating continuously, ready to regulate traffic and handle incidents 24/7 in case of heavy rain or local flooding. Dong Nai is an area with high traffic volume, especially on Highway 51 and Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, where an average of more than 60,000 cars pass through each day.

According to a reporter in Ho Chi Minh City, where the system of bridges, culverts, and underpasses is dense, the inspection and maintenance of bridges and roads has also been increased before the rainy season. According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, currently, its affiliated units have completed the inspection and periodic maintenance of more than 470 large and small bridges, especially important bridges such as Saigon Bridge, Thu Thiem Bridge, Phu My Bridge and underpasses on Nguyen Huu Canh, Dien Bien Phu, and Vo Van Kiet axes.
In addition, the City also focuses on reinforcing road surfaces at frequently flooded areas, and at the same time, implementing a plan to dredge drainage systems on 500 roads to limit local flooding. Traffic Management Areas 1-4 have been asked to be on duty 24/7, coordinating with the Flood Control Program Operation Center to promptly handle incidents when they occur.
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said that, in parallel with maintenance work, the city is speeding up the repair of degraded roads such as Truong Chinh, Le Trong Tan, An Duong Vuong, Nguyen Van Linh... to ensure traffic safety and prolong the life of the works. In addition, the Traffic Inspectorate is deployed to monitor the scene during heavy rains, ready to coordinate rescue, guide traffic flow, and reduce congestion at flooded areas.

Proactively repairing, maintaining and reinforcing traffic infrastructure not only helps limit damage caused by natural disasters but also demonstrates a sense of responsibility and proactive response to climate change. These are practical actions to protect people's safety, ensure smooth traffic, and contribute to maintaining the economic and social development of the area during the rainy and stormy season in Ho Chi Minh City.
