They are ordinary yet extraordinary people, daring to think, daring to do and spreading good values around them. From the Mong man Sung A Tua (Lao Cai) who started a business in the mountains and forests of his homeland with agricultural products and tourism , to the village chief Mua A Thi (Dien Bien) who bravely saved people in the flood, each story is a vivid testament to the strength and courage of today's youth.

"Fire" inspires highland youth

With his constant efforts in building agricultural product brands, developing community tourism and bringing hometown products to e-commerce platforms, Sung A Tua, a Mong man from Phinh Ho commune ( Lao Cai province), has become a source of inspiration for many young people in the highlands.

Born and raised in Phinh Ho, Sung A Tua understands the difficulties and hardships of the Mong people. After graduating from the University of Law, he decided to return to his homeland with the desire to contribute to changing the face of the land where he was born - with his own knowledge and youthful aspirations.

With love and creativity, he has successfully built the Phinh Ho ancient Shan Tuyet tea brand, standardized the harvesting, processing, quality control processes and brought the products to e-commerce platforms, expanding the export market to the US, Japan, and Korea.

The beginning was not easy, especially when he learned how to apply technology by himself, Sung A Tua created the TikTok channel “A Tua Phinh Ho” with nearly 400,000 followers. His self-made videos about the life of the Mong people, the “village in the clouds”, or the specialties of the highlands attracted hundreds of thousands of views, contributing to making Phinh Ho a famous destination among young people.

Not stopping there, he also initiated the Lau Camping Phinh Ho community tourism model, leading tourists to visit the village, experience the Mong culture, conquer Hang Te Cho waterfall, and visit the ancient Shan Tuyet tea hill. These activities not only promote tourism but also create more jobs and income for local people.

What is more valuable is that Sung A Tua did not stop at his own success. He persistently encouraged people to change their production mindset, taught them how to use smartphones to take photos, record videos, and post agricultural products for sale, helping people be more proactive in their economy. “At first, people were hesitant, afraid that no one would buy what they produced. But when they saw the results, everyone was excited to participate,” he shared.

Thanks to that, Phinh Ho today has flourished, people's lives have gradually improved. For Tua, rural youth have many advantages - land, products, culture - just need to be bold in innovation, dare to think and dare to do, success will come.

From a young man in the highlands who had never heard of the Internet, Sung A Tua has now become a role model for the creative and dedicated spirit of young people in the digital age. He was once chosen as a typical citizen to speak at the Program responding to the National Digital Transformation Day 2024 in the province, sharing his experience in applying digital platforms to promote tourism and develop the economy.

Sending a message to young people who are looking for a way to assert themselves and contribute to their homeland, Sung A Tua shared: "I am just an ethnic minority youth and I have done it, surely you can do it too. We do not necessarily have to go far, just stay where we were born and raised, live our lives to the fullest for our people, the community, and society. Let's spread good things, meaningful values right from our homeland, so that that place can develop more and more, become more beautiful, so that we can contribute to helping and supporting those around us. That is the ideal of youth, of the young generation".

Sung A Tua's startup story is a living testament to the spirit of "I love my Fatherland", a fire that inspires highland youth to dare to rise up and take control of their lives.
