Hoa Phat donates 1 billion VND to overcome the consequences of post-war bombs and mines

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense, said that Vietnam is one of the countries polluted with bombs, mines, and explosives in the world, with a contaminated area of about 5.6 million hectares (accounting for more than 17.7% of the country's total area).

According to preliminary calculations by the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Overcoming the Consequences of Post-War Bombs, Mines and Toxic Chemicals in Vietnam (Steering Committee 701), Vietnam needs more than VND200,000 billion to overcome and clean up areas contaminated with bombs and mines.

The Deputy Minister of National Defense emphasized that the support of domestic and foreign organizations and individuals is a noble gesture, contributing to easing difficulties and disadvantages for mine victims and developing the socio- economy in localities.

In 2024, Hoa Phat will achieve VND 140,560 billion in revenue, up 17% over the same period; after-tax profit of VND 12,020 billion, up 77% and exceeding the plan by 20%. The steel sector continues to play a key role, accounting for 93% of the Group's revenue and 86% of its total profit. Profit from the agricultural sector will increase 4.6 times compared to 2023. Hoa Phat will contribute more than VND 13,400 billion to the State budget, the highest ever.

In the first six months of 2025, Hoa Phat recorded more than 74 trillion VND in revenue and more than 7,600 billion VND in after-tax profit, up 5% and 23% respectively over the same period. The Group paid 7,100 billion VND to the budgets of 20 provinces and cities across the country.

In parallel with production and business activities, Hoa Phat spends hundreds of billions each year to implement many social responsibility programs in the fields of health, education, transportation and community, such as supporting the construction of more than 1,500 houses for the poor and policy families, donating more than 300 water purifiers to schools and medical facilities, building Binh Dong Primary School in Quang Ngai...
