5G products manufactured in Vietnam are certified at the global level by the most prestigious organization, Gartner.
According to Forbes, the Gartner Magic Quadrant (MQ) report is considered the "gold standard" for assessing the market position of technology providers, whether they are established, long-standing companies or emerging startups. Appearing in the report by Gartner, a leading global technology analysis organization, is not only a milestone demonstrating Viettel 's competitiveness, innovation, and international reputation, but also opens up opportunities for cross-border collaboration with the most promising markets.
From "Make in Vietnam" products to global recognition.
In 2019-2020, Viettel decided to conduct 5G research with the goal of achieving mastery. In 2022, three of Viettel's key products – 5G gNodeB base stations, vOCS 4.0 billing system, and 5G Core network infrastructure – were recognized by Gartner Peer Insights, a platform that evaluates performance from real-world users.
After three years, Viettel has been recognized at the highest level in the Magic Quadrant report. This assessment from Gartner not only demonstrates the quality of Viettel's products but also showcases the research and development (R&D) capabilities and strategic thinking of a Vietnamese enterprise that has reached international standards. Viettel, from a telecommunications company, has become a manufacturer and provider of technology capable of competing with global corporations.

In 2021, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized the role of 5G in Vietnam's economy: "For the first time, communication infrastructure has become the infrastructure of the economy. And it fundamentally changes our lives. This is the mission of 5G, and that mission rests on the shoulders of Vietnam's ICT industry."
Now, Viettel can be considered to have played a pioneering role in that journey by mastering next-generation telecommunications infrastructure with the widespread deployment of the "Make In Vietnam" 5G system, and by making Vietnam one of the five countries in the world to have a complete telecommunications network.
Building on this platform, Viettel has developed an ecosystem with over 100 services and solutions applied in the fields of manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, education, energy, and smart cities, bringing the power of 5G into every aspect of life and contributing to promoting national digital transformation.
Technology vision and execution - the key to Gartner recognition
Gartner not only evaluates products but also focuses on the overall capabilities of the business, particularly two factors: technological vision and execution ability. Viettel is recognized precisely because it possesses both.
Firstly, Viettel has a clear vision for technology. From the outset, the corporation recognized that technology is not just a business tool, but the foundation of national independence and self-reliance. Instead of following trends, Viettel chose to develop and master core technologies for the future: AI, cloud computing, chipsets, cybersecurity, and 5G based on open standards (Open RAN). The goal is not just to provide services, but to create digital infrastructure for the country and the region.
Secondly, Viettel possesses strong implementation capabilities. In 2025, Viettel will deploy 2,500 5G Open RAN 32T32R base stations nationwide, using Qualcomm chipsets that save up to 24% energy compared to traditional equipment. Thanks to the open architecture of Open RAN, Viettel has halved the product development time, reducing it to just 12 months instead of the usual 24 months.
In particular, thanks to its pioneering application of Qualcomm's ASIC chipset in its 5G gNodeB product, this company was the earliest partner to receive the technology, complete the design the fastest, and deploy it the earliest among the companies collaborating with Qualcomm.

Currently, Viettel is also the unit that has deployed the most 5G Open RAN stations using this ASIC chipset, thereby affirming its technological mastery and position on Gartner's global 5G research map.
Currently, Viettel's products not only solve technological problems but also bring concrete benefits to the community: from helping businesses increase productivity to supporting cities in more effective digital transformation. This is also why Gartner assesses Viettel not just as a technology provider, but as a true creator of the digital ecosystem.
The open road for Vietnamese businesses
Viettel's journey, recognized by Gartner, is the result of a long-term vision, systematic investment, unwavering commitment to technological innovation, and a strategic international partnership. This achievement by Viettel directly demonstrates how Vietnamese businesses seeking international recognition can prove that Vietnam can absolutely compete with technological powerhouses if it dares to set high goals and perseveres to achieve them.
Because technological autonomy is a prerequisite. When businesses can design, manufacture, and develop their own products, they can control quality, ensure security, and innovate continuously.
Next, we place people and the nation at the center. Viettel develops technology with the philosophy of "Technology for people," meaning that technology is only valuable when it serves social development, benefiting citizens and businesses.
In particular, with its goals of transparency and international integration, meeting global standards, publicly disclosing data, and cooperating with reputable organizations such as the ORAN Alliance, GSMA, and Qualcomm, Viettel stands on the shoulders of giants to step out into the world.
From the first base stations to the self-sufficient 5G ecosystem, from gNodeB products to ASIC chipsets, Viettel has shown that Vietnam's path to the world is not just through commerce, but through technology and intelligence.
A Qualcomm representative assessed that the technology Viettel is deploying in the 5G ecosystem is very complex, requiring significant effort and in-depth expertise. Viettel's achievement demonstrates that Vietnamese engineers possess world-class skills. Viettel successfully implemented this in a short period, bringing the technology into commercial operation. In the future, Viettel will expand this scale globally, positioning itself as one of the world's leading players, and Qualcomm is very proud to partner with Viettel. I believe this is just the beginning.
