"Saving the waves" and saving people

Information from Viettel Group on November 23 said that in Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak provinces, Viettel has deployed communication assurance work, along with participating in rescue work, and transporting essential necessities to affected people.

According to information from Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Ngoc Thuong, Director of Viettel Khanh Hoa , during the process of responding to information and transporting goods and supplies, the unit's vehicles and boats are also ready to give way to rescue people when necessary.

Especially on the night of November 19, while we were struggling to fight the flood, an urgent rescue report was sent about people in distress.

Immediately, three members, Pham Van Hung, Nguyen Thanh Phuc and Hoang Duc Hieu of Viettel Khanh Hoa, used the team's boat to rush into the deep water in the middle of the rainy night to rescue the two trapped children to safety.

Along with the task of responding to information and rescuing people in Khanh Hoa, Viettel also deployed drones to deliver relief goods, provided satellite phones to serve areas without communication, and flycams to support search and rescue. The unit operated 5 drones to transport relief goods to people in Bac Nha Trang and Tay Nha Trang wards, Dien Dien and Bac Ai Tay communes. These are deeply flooded areas that are difficult to access by boat and canoe.

To date, drones have made 300 flights, transporting nearly 3 tons of food and essential goods to people.

By late afternoon on November 22, Viettel said the communication network in Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai and Dak Lak had been almost completely restored. Currently, only a few stations remain in Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak due to the divided terrain, making it impossible for forces to access and replace equipment.

All Viettel stores in provinces affected by natural disasters are arranged as free battery charging points for local people.

Many policies to support people in flood-affected areas

Over the past few days, Viettel Telecom has continuously issued emergency policies to support customers in Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak provinces to stay in touch during the floods. Subscribers in isolated areas have had 20,000 VND added to their accounts to make calls, send messages, and access the internet. The total amount of support has reached more than 10 billion VND.

According to VinaPhone, the network has launched a special support program for customers living in areas directly affected by floods. The program runs from November 22 to November 29, 2025. During this time, people in areas identified by authorities as flood-prone areas will be given 100 minutes of domestic/international calls and 15 GB of data to use for 7 days.

MobiFone Service Company Region 7 informed that the rescue work is still being urgently deployed by the team, making efforts to approach isolated BTS stations, refuel, and restore connections to ensure safe communication for people and authorities.

At the same time, officers and employees reached affected areas in Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak, giving essential food and supplies to people.

The Office Block of Company 7 launched a donation campaign, collecting clothes and personal items for people throughout the weekend, without a break, with the desire to bring timely warmth in the most difficult times.
