According to QQ, 2026 is shaping up to be a special year for Apple with a series of revolutionary changes, especially the appearance of the folding iPhone.
First, after years of waiting, the first foldable iPhone is expected to officially launch in September 2026. Sources from China revealed that the device has a 5.3-inch external screen that expands to 7.8 inches when opened.
In terms of configuration, the foldable iPhone is equipped with an A20 Pro chip and 12 GB of RAM. Notably, the device will use a 5G C2 modem chip developed by Apple itself.
Additionally, the device will ditch Face ID in favor of a side-mounted Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The expected starting price is $1,999 .
Currently, there are two hypotheses about the camera design for the foldable iPhone. The first option is to arrange an 18 MP selfie camera for both folded/unfolded modes with a 48 MP dual camera cluster on the back.
The second option that is very much expected is that Apple will use 24 MP under-screen camera technology for the first time for the inner screen.
Despite reports from the supply chain that the iPhone 17 Air is not selling as expected and has to cut down on quantity, Apple is not giving up on this ultra-thin product line.
Accordingly, the iPhone 18 Air continues to launch at the same time as the foldable iPhone. The device will be strongly upgraded with a dual 48 MP wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle camera cluster placed horizontally, supporting 2x digital zoom. The device still retains a 6.5-inch high-refresh-rate screen, Face ID and a thin, light design.
