Actress Khanh Van revealed that she has always been typecast into playing 16-17 year old characters after the success of her role as Tra Long in "Eye of the Beholder".

After a few years of silence, actress Khánh Vân returns with a web drama project titled Liên and Đạt , starring alongside Cody Nam Võ.

The film tells the tumultuous love story of Lien (played by Khanh Van) and Dat (played by Cody Nam Vo). They are in love and preparing to get married, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they are separated. By the time they overcome their misunderstandings, they no longer have a chance to start over.

In the film, Khanh Van's portrayal was praised for her sweet appearance. However, her acting and performance were criticized for resembling her previous projects, especially her role as Tra Long in "Mat Biec" (Blue Eyes).

Responding to criticisms that her acting style is "monotonous," constantly playing characters with cheerful and innocent images, Khanh Van explained that she wants to excel in the image that audiences love about her before expanding her horizons to try out more diverse roles on screen.

"When I participated in the film 'Mắt Biếc' (Blue Eyes), I was an amateur, I hadn't studied acting. Later, I limited my participation in other films because most producers sent me scripts to play 17-18 year old girls, while I was already 28. I was quite upset, but my appearance only suited those kinds of roles."

"This project will have many new elements. However, this is only the first episode, so I hope everyone will continue to follow along to see how I've changed," she said.

The actress doesn't want to be typecast in innocent roles.

Khánh Vân described her character in the new film as having many new and unique facets, and also the most different role of her career. This character helped her learn and improve her acting skills so that she can participate in more major projects in the future. After this project, Khánh Vân will have two upcoming feature films.

Notably, this is also the first film that Khanh Van has participated in producing, marking a major turning point in her career. Playing the lead role and also producing, Khanh Van inevitably faced pressure.

Regarding this, Cody asserted that the character Lien in the film wasn't his type, while Khanh Van also emphasized: "Dat isn't my type either."

As a singer transitioning into acting, Cody also admitted to facing quite a few challenges while filming this web drama.

Lien and Dat is a project by Kim Entertainment. The title sounds like the reverse of Lan and Diep. The film explores the perspective of young people in a lighthearted way.
