Female student takes 10th grade exam after being bitten by centipede, requires emergency treatment.

Despite being bitten by a centipede before her entrance exam for 10th grade, the female student still tried to take the exam, but her health deteriorated and she had to be rushed to the hospital.

According to information from the Phu Tho Provincial Police, on the morning of June 2nd, during the entrance exam for 10th grade in the 2026-2027 school year in the province, the Hop Kim commune police force promptly assisted a candidate who was bitten by a centipede, taking him to the hospital for emergency treatment.

According to initial information, before the mathematics exam for admission to public high schools, Bui Thi Phuong L. was unfortunately bitten by a centipede. Despite her health being affected, because this was an important exam, the female student still tried to go to the exam center at Sao Bay High School (Phu Tho) to take the exam as required.

During the exam, L.'s health deteriorated, experiencing pain and extreme fatigue, forcing her to stop. Upon discovering the situation, medical staff at the examination site promptly provided first aid, monitored her health, and administered intravenous fluids in the examination board's medical room.

Prioritizing the health and safety of the candidate, the Hop Kim commune police, in coordination with the examination board and the family, took the student to the Kim Boi Regional Medical Center for examination and treatment.

Earlier, also during the 10th grade entrance exam in Phu Tho province, on the evening of May 31st, just before the exam, candidate Do Van Tien Dat (a student from Cu Thang Secondary School, taking the exam at Phu Tho Provincial Ethnic Boarding School) unexpectedly had to undergo emergency surgery due to appendicitis.

In this extremely critical situation, the Phu Tho Ward Police coordinated with the family to arrange transportation to take Dat from Phu Tho Regional General Hospital to the exam site safely and on time.

At the same time, the examination board and local authorities proactively provided maximum support in terms of transportation, healthcare, and psychological encouragement for the male student. Dat overcame the difficulties to successfully complete the exams.

The entrance exam for 10th grade in public high schools in Phu Tho province took place on June 1-2 with over 57,000 candidates participating. Candidates took three exams: Mathematics, Literature, and English. Those applying to specialized schools took an additional specialized subject exam on the morning of June 3.

Currently, according to the regulations on admission to junior and senior high schools issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, the ministry does not specify any criteria for granting special admission to 10th grade in public high schools.
