BIDV introduces Apple Pay payment service to cardholders.

The Vietnam Investment and Development Bank ( BIDV ) introduces Apple Pay – a safe, secure, and private payment method for Visa cardholders. This allows customers to avoid handing over their payment cards, touching physical buttons, or exchanging cash. Instead, they can utilize built-in security and privacy features on iPhones, Apple Watches, iPads, and Macs to protect their transactions.

Customers simply double-tap the side button and hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near the terminal to complete a contactless payment transaction. Each Apple Pay transaction is secured through authentication using Face ID, Touch ID, or the device's passcode, along with a one-time dynamic security code.

Apple Pay is accepted at retail stores, pharmacies, taxi services, restaurants, cafes, and many other locations. Customers can also use Apple Pay on iPhone, iPad, and Mac for faster and more convenient purchases in apps or on the web using Safari without creating an account or re-entering delivery and payment information.

Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. The actual credit card number is not stored on the device or on Apple's servers when a customer uses Apple Pay for payment transactions. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in a Secure Element, a standard chip designed to securely store payment information on electronic devices.

Setting up Apple Pay is simple and convenient. Users can open the Wallet app on their iPhone, tap the plus sign (+), and follow the instructions to add their BIDV Visa credit card. Customers can also link their Visa credit card from the BIDV SmartBanking app.

After adding the card to their iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac, customers can start using Apple Pay on those devices immediately. Customers continue to enjoy all the benefits and promotions offered by BIDV, such as: earning reward points with every transaction, interest-free spending for up to 45 days, 0% interest installment payments, and discounts at thousands of BIDV partner locations.

To use Apple Pay, users need an iPhone 6 or later running iOS 12.5.2 or later. The service also supports Apple Watch Series 4 or later with at least watchOS 9 and must be paired with an iPhone 8 or later.
