An Bang Beach is the only representative from Vietnam to be included in the ranking of the world's most relaxing places, as voted on by users of the Spa Seekers website.

Spa Seekers, a website that helps you find relaxing travel experiences, announced its list of the 50 most relaxing destinations in the world on October 11th. The ranking is based on research into online user behavior, counting the number of times the word "relax" is used by users in reviews.

Spa Seekers analysts also exclude "purpose-built wellness facilities," including hotels and spas, to ensure the rankings are fair.

The list of 50 relaxing destinations includes natural spas, hot spring baths, hot springs, botanical gardens, parks, lakes, beaches, and islands. An Bang Beach in Quang Nam is the only Vietnamese destination on the list of the world's most relaxing places, ranking 17th. 497 users mentioned the word "relaxing" in online reviews of An Bang Beach. This beach is located about 5 km from the center of Hoi An ancient town. In 2021, An Bang Beach also ranked 24th in Tripadvisor's list of the 25 most beautiful beaches in Asia.

Leading the list of the world's most relaxing destinations is Iceland's Blue Lagoon. This world-renowned geothermal resort is located less than an hour's drive from Reykjavik, Iceland's capital. The word "relaxing" has been used 4,050 times in online reviews of the Blue Lagoon.

The water in Blue Lagoon is naturally heated by underground lava flows and is rich in minerals such as silicates and sulfur, so bathing here can help prevent certain skin diseases. Along with the natural scenery, this location also offers high-end resort and spa amenities. There are dry saunas, steam rooms, and spa treatments using white mud from Blue Lagoon for health care. Algae and silica-rich white mud have been shown to support the skin's protective barrier function, stimulate collagen, regenerate skin, and deeply cleanse. Spa Seekers suggests that visitors can use the mud as a facial mask after soaking in the lagoon.

Representatives from Spa Seekers noted that most of the top 10 spots are hot springs and pools in Europe. Outdoor green spaces also ranked highly, including the Luxembourg Gardens in France (4th place), Gardens by the Bay in Singapore (6th place), and the Royal Victoria Botanic Gardens in Australia (10th place).

The most "relaxing" continent is Europe, with 6 of the top 10 destinations. This is followed by North America with 8 spots in the top 25. Asia has one spot in the top 10 and 5 locations in the top 25.
