Billiards: Vietnamese female player wins historic Asian championship.

Female billiards player Nguyen Duc Yen Sinh had an outstanding performance, winning the final match to claim the Asian championship title and make history in Vietnamese carom billiards.

The first Vietnamese female billiards player to win the continental billiards championship.

In the women's 3-cushion carom billiards final held on the afternoon of May 10th at the Ho Xuan Huong Gymnasium (Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), under the enthusiastic cheers of the home crowd, Nguyen Duc Yen Sinh had a good start with many accurate shots. The Vietnamese female player quickly took the lead against Lee Yu-na (South Korea) with a score of 15-5, taking the match to halftime.

Entering the second half, Lee Yu-na made a determined effort to catch up, scoring a series of 6 points to narrow the gap to 18-24. However, Yen Sinh still displayed great composure to win the match 30-19 after 35 innings, claiming the women's 3-cushion billiards championship at the 2026 Asian Carom Billiards Championship. This also marks the first time in history that a female player from Vietnam has won a continental-level tournament.

In the 1-cushion carom billiards event, the results were exactly as predicted by billiard enthusiasts. The championship title was firmly in the hands of the Vietnamese home players. Pham Canh Phuc defeated Mori Yoichirou (Japan) with a decisive score of 100-42 in the final, thus claiming the top spot.

The final of the U.22 3-cushion carom billiards event, held on the same day, was a clash between the defending champion Kim Do-hyun and the young Vietnamese talent Dinh Trong Van. Right from the start of the match, the South Korean player demonstrated his class with a 14-point opening shot, leading 21-4 after the first set.

Kim Do-hyun won the championship with a final score of 40-28 after 25 innings. For Dinh Trong Van, finishing as runner-up was considered a success.

Dinh Trong Van finished in second place in the U.22 3-cushion carom billiards event.
