Over the weekend, many residents gathered at the Binh Duc Ward Police Station to complete administrative procedures such as verifying information, registering residency, and registering for level 2 electronic identification accounts. With a dedicated and attentive attitude, the police officers guided residents in completing their applications and procedures, ensuring accurate information declarations and a quick processing time. Ms. Huynh Thi Nai, residing in Binh Duc 5 hamlet, came to the police station to verify her residency information and shared: “Previously, I resided in the ward, but for the past five years I have been back in my hometown caring for my sick mother. I want to redo my paperwork to register my residency in Binh Duc Ward. Being illiterate, the officers provided enthusiastic guidance, helping me complete the application and procedures quickly, saving me time and money.”
Binh Duc Ward currently has 17,504 households, over 73,200 residents, and more than 570 registered temporary residents, including students, workers, and laborers renting accommodation. Lieutenant Colonel Luyen Thi Kim Giang, an officer handling administrative procedures at Binh Duc Ward Police, said: “Many residents are elderly and have limited legal awareness. For example, in Ms. Nai's case, the delay in processing her documents was quite long; she only searched for them when needed and discovered that her documents had expired. After gathering information and hearing her explanation, the ward police leadership directly contacted three agencies: the Public Administrative Service Center of Binh Duc Ward, Long Xuyen, and Hoi An Commune, to have Ms. Nai's birth certificate reissued on the same day. Simultaneously, they looked up and verified basic citizen information and proceeded to accept her residence registration application so she could receive her documents as soon as possible.”
Closely connected to their assigned area, the Binh Duc Ward Police also actively provides in-home support to those who are unable to travel. Mr. Tong Hung Dung, residing in Binh Thoi 3 hamlet, shared: “My children and grandchildren all work far away, leaving only my wife, my elderly mother, and my sick mother who cannot travel. Fortunately, the ward police helped my mother get all the necessary documents and purchase health insurance in time.”
Major Tran Van Sang, a local police officer, stated: “After the merger, the area is larger, leading to more difficult management. However, I always remember that the responsibility of a local police officer is to be close to the people, to understand their thoughts and aspirations, and then advise the ward police leadership on plans to provide timely support and assistance in difficult situations. This is also a way to strengthen the bond between the people and the police force in maintaining local security and order.”
To ensure smooth and efficient operations, the ward police station has equipped its one-stop service department with laptops and tablets for citizens to use, log in to their electronic identity accounts, and quickly submit online public service applications. In cases with difficulties, the ward police chief directly receives applications for residence registration and issues identity cards to citizens. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of Binh Duc Ward Police Station, said: “Officers and soldiers are closely monitoring the situation at the grassroots level, increasing patrols and controls, and proactively advising the local Party committee and government on building a nationwide movement to protect national security. Thanks to this, the security and order situation in the ward is stable, and administrative procedures related to citizens are resolved quickly and promptly, earning the trust and high praise of the people and local authorities.”
