On May 21st, Mr. Ngo Tung Son, Director of the Land Development Center of Gia Lai province, stated that the unit is supervising the demolition of the Binh Duong Hotel on An Duong Vuong Street (Quy Nhon Nam ward, Gia Lai province), in order to return the coastal space to the community.

On May 21st, the construction unit mobilized 10 workers along with demolition vehicles and cranes to dismantle two buildings, one with 4 floors and the other with 6 floors, covering a total area of approximately 6,000m², belonging to the Binh Duong Hotel.

The Binh Duong Hotel was slated for relocation and demolition by Binh Dinh province (now Gia Lai province) starting in 2019, with the aim of returning the beachfront space to the community. To relocate and demolish the building, Gia Lai province spent 43 billion VND on compensation and land exchange for a 2,800m² plot in Quy Nhon Nam ward.

"The contractor is committed to safely demolishing and cleaning up the site to hand it over to the Quy Nhon Nam Ward People's Committee for management, returning the beach space to the community," said Mr. Ngo Tung Son.

As reported by SGGP newspaper, since 2019, Binh Dinh province (now Gia Lai province) has been developing a plan to relocate and dismantle structures and hotels that obstruct the sea on land belonging to Quy Nhon Beach Park along An Duong Vuong road.
Currently, the Binh Duong Hotel is being demolished, while the Hai Au Hotel and Hoang Yen Hotel are being considered by the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee for a plan to harmonize the interests of investors and avoid waste.
