Located about 60km from Thanh Hoa City, Ma village (Thuong Xuan town, Thuong Xuan district) has only 54 households with 142 inhabitants, all of whom are ethnic Thai people. From a poor village, but with the advantages of nature, the attention of the Party and State, and the people's determination to overcome poverty, Ma village has now become a community tourism village focused on preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Thai ethnic group, attracting many tourists from inside and outside the province to visit and relax.

Recognizing that ensuring security and safety for residents and tourists is a daily task, since taking up their post, the Thuong Xuan Town Police have focused on disseminating and educating the public about the law to raise awareness and responsibility among all levels, sectors, and citizens in ensuring security and order.
The officers and soldiers of the Thuong Xuan town police force have worked day and night, staying close to the people, villages, and localities. They have actively advised the Party committee and government on comprehensive leadership and direction in ensuring security and order, while also closely listening to and understanding the thoughts and aspirations of the people. They have also sought the support of influential figures in the ethnic communities to propagate and encourage strict adherence to the Party's policies, the State's laws, and local regulations; and actively participated in the nationwide movement to protect national security. As a result, many self-defense and self-management models for security and order have been built and effectively implemented in crime prevention, combating, and suppression, such as the "Camera for Security and Order" model and the "Rural Road Lighting" model.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Son, a tourist from Thanh Hoa City who visited Ma village with his family, said: “When we arrived, the police and security team guided us on parking and showed us around Ma village. We enjoyed the fresh scenery while listening to the driver introduce Ma village, which was very appealing and interesting. The security and traffic safety situation here is very good, which is what makes us feel safe and satisfied. We will definitely return many more times to learn about the life, customs, and traditions of the ethnic minorities, the traditional stilt houses, the traditional dances, the weaving of brocade, and the traditional dishes of the Thai ethnic group.”
The security situation is well-maintained, contributing to the development of tourism in Ma village.
The family of Mr. Lu Van Tinh is one of the five pioneering households in community tourism (homestay) in Ma village. With guidance and information from the police, his family invested in installing a system of security cameras in their two stilt houses and other necessary locations. Similarly, many households in Ma village have recognized the benefits of installing security cameras and have also invested in their own installations. To date, Ma village has mobilized social resources to develop the "Security Surveillance Camera" model, with over 60 cameras installed in households and public areas.
Mr. Lu Van Tinh stated: "After my family's camera system was installed, it has assisted and facilitated the police and my family in monitoring and controlling activities, thereby promptly detecting complex incidents and helping the police investigate and pursue them; promoting the strength of the 'All People Protect National Security' movement, contributing to ensuring good security and order in the area, and creating peace of mind for tourists when choosing my family as a place to stay, relax, and visit Ma village."

One of the joys and excitements for the officials, Party members, and people of the Ma ethnic group in the village is that this year the village has been selected as one of the pilot units for organizing the "National Security Protection Day" event. To prepare for the activities of the event, Party committees, government agencies, and police forces from the provincial to the grassroots level have coordinated and meticulously prepared the necessary conditions for organizing cultural and artistic activities, sports events, decorations, logistics, and ensuring security and order. Through these activities, they aim to propagate and educate about patriotic traditions, national pride, and raise the awareness and responsibility of officials, Party members, and all strata of the people in protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, and building a truly clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern People's Police force, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation. At the same time, it creates a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere of emulation among all strata of the people, contributing to the further development and strengthening of the "All People Protect National Security" movement, meeting the requirements and tasks of ensuring security and order in the new situation.
Mr. Hoang Sy Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Xuan town, said: "Thanks to the widespread and strong movement of all citizens protecting national security, with the town's police force as the core, the security and order situation in the locality continues to be maintained and ensured; people proactively guide tourists to comply with the Law on Residence and the Law on Road Traffic. They also proactively inspect and guide fire safety at homestays. These basic results have created a foundation for the Community Tourism Development Project in Thuong Xuan district until 2025, with a vision to 2030, to achieve very encouraging results."
A peaceful new day dawns in the Ma village, bringing confidence and enthusiasm to the Party Committee, government, and people in the face of the achievements of their homeland and country. Sharing in this joy, the officers and soldiers of the Thuong Xuan town police force are honored and proud to have strived and worked alongside all levels and sectors to protect the peaceful lives of the people here.
