The Ministry of Industry and Trade is accelerating the implementation of E10 gasoline.

TPO - With only about half a month left before the mandatory sale of E10 bioethanol fuel nationwide, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has requested petroleum distribution and supply companies to urgently prepare their supply sources, blending systems, and facilities to be ready for simultaneous implementation starting June 1st.

According to the Domestic Market Management and Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , from June 1st, unleaded gasoline circulating in the market will have to be blended into E10 gasoline for use in gasoline engines nationwide. Meanwhile, E5RON92 gasoline will continue to be used until the end of 2030.

According to the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is currently coordinating with relevant ministries and agencies to draft a Government Resolution allowing petroleum wholesalers to hire testing services from qualified units to check the quality of petroleum according to national technical standards. This aims to complete the application for a Certificate of Registration for petroleum blending facilities, creating favorable conditions for traders to implement the roadmap for blending and distributing biofuels.

E10 gasoline will be mandatory for sale nationwide starting June 1st.

Therefore, to ensure the implementation roadmap proceeds as planned, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development requests that key traders and distributors proactively develop consumption plans and sign contracts for the purchase and sale of E10 gasoline with units that have suitable blending facilities.

Retail stores, dealerships, and franchisees are also required to prepare the necessary infrastructure to be ready to distribute E10 from the beginning of June.

On the market, many major fuel distributors have begun accelerating the widespread deployment of E10 gasoline. PVOIL announced that from May 15th, it has been selling E10 across its entire system of nearly 1,000 gas stations nationwide. Meanwhile, Petrolimex also plans to simultaneously deploy E10 from May 20th across its system of more than 2,800 gas stations nationwide after a period of preparing the blending infrastructure and technical standards. Private gas stations, however, remain hesitant due to some obstacles related to blending and technical issues.
