The Ministry of National Defense's working delegation led by Colonel Pham Toan Thang - Deputy Director of the Economic Department worked with Economic - Defense Group 4 (KT-QP4) from August 26-28 on the implementation of national target programs for the period 2021-2025 and the working program of the working delegation of Steering Committee 202 of the Ministry of National Defense.
Accompanying the delegation were representatives from the Political Department, Logistics Department, and Finance Department of Military Region 4.
The working delegation of Steering Committee 202, Ministry of National Defense inspected the system of records, documents and inspected and surveyed the actual implementation results at the Production Teams of Economic-Defense Group 4 in the Ky Son area. The working delegation of the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to evaluate the implementation results of projects in the National Target Program in 2022 and deploy tasks and projects in 2023 of Economic-Defense Group 4.
Colonel Le Van Thang - Head of the 4th Military Economic Group reported on the results of implementing the contents and objectives of the National Target Program of the 4th Military Economic Group. Accordingly, in 2022, the Party Committee and the command of the 4th Military Economic Group regularly performed well in leading, directing, and closely coordinating with local Party committees, authorities, and village management boards to effectively implement project programs. Notably, on the basis of production development and planning, fundamentally transforming people's farming practices to help people change the structure of crops and livestock, and build a reasonable economic structure. At the same time, maximizing the potential of the allocated land to organize production in the direction of developing a commodity economy with high-yield and high-quality seedlings and breeds such as: sturgeon farming models, growing snow tea, Java lemongrass, melons, papaya, passion fruit; raising Boer goats, crossbred cows, buffaloes, native pigs, etc.
In 2022, the Economic-Defense Force 4 has provided sufficient quantity and quality of plants, breeds, and materials to 385 poor ethnic minority households benefiting from the project, including: 185 local cows; 100 local female buffaloes; 30 super lean sows; 2 super lean boars; 200 female Boer goats; 5 male Boer goats. Support for supplies and veterinary medicine: 1,425 kg of licking stones; 36,945 kg of animal feed; veterinary medicine worth 36,540,000 VND... The models gradually create a stable source of income, contributing to building an area with a developed economy, stable socio-politics, and firmly maintained national defense and security.
Along with supporting people to develop the economy, the unit also implemented the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school". The unit closely coordinated with local authorities and schools in the project area to conduct a survey to receive support for 20 students with especially difficult circumstances at a rate of 4,400,000 VND/student/year.
In 2023, implementing sub-project 3, the unit will support livestock and crop projects and models with 11 models (7 livestock models, 4 crop models); the number of poor ethnic minority households benefiting from the project is 1,417 households; 11 training classes will be opened with 1,417 participants.
Implementing the content of sub-project 3: Military officers and soldiers help children go to school, the unit continues to support 20 children with a rate of 7,400,000 VND/child/year. Opening 1 ethnic knowledge training class, including a Mong language class with 40 participants; organizing and participating in organizing 12 talks to propagate and disseminate legal education in communes and villages with more than 250 participants...
Concluding the inspection, Colonel Pham Toan Thang - Deputy Director of the Economic Department commended and congratulated the results achieved in the recent past, and at the same time requested the leaders and commanders of the units to continue to increase their attention and closely monitor the implemented models.
Along with that, units need to actively grasp the locality, research many good models, effective methods to help people sustainably eliminate hunger and reduce poverty; proactively and actively coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to propagate and mobilize ethnic minorities, remote, isolated and border areas to promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, constantly strive to become a bright spot in the Western region of Nghe An.
