Vietnamese Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Korean Minister of Human Resources Management Yeon Won Jeong

Speaking at the Reception, Minister Yeon Won Jeong was pleased to welcome and work with Vietnamese Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra and the delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs; at the same time, he provided general information about the functions and tasks of the Korean Ministry of Human Resources Management.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Human Resources Management (MPM) is an agency of the Korean Government responsible for advising and implementing policies related to public personnel, including: recruitment, human resource development, human resource management, building welfare and pension programs, and supervising issues of ethics and discipline of Korean civil servants.

Minister Yeon Won Jeong affirmed that Korea attaches importance to personnel innovation because only innovation and reform can meet the requirements of a dynamic government serving the people. "Creating a disciplined civil service to create public values and civil servant ethics is the development philosophy of the Korean Ministry of Human Resources Management," Mr. Yeon Won Jeong emphasized and is willing to share management experiences in related fields so that the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs can refer to and learn from.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra respectfully thanked the warm, friendly and respectful reception that Minister Yeon Won personally and the Korean Ministry of Human Resources Management gave to the delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs.
Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra wishes to learn from Korea's experience in recruiting, using and managing civil servants; issues of attracting and promoting talented people to work in the public sector; experiences and civil servant management regimes of Korea... Through that, the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs will selectively learn from them to serve the purpose of advising and formulating policies on public personnel management, initially serving the amendment and supplementation of the Law on Cadres, Civil Servants and the Law on Public Employees.

On this occasion, Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra proposed that the two ministries sign a memorandum of cooperation in areas of mutual interest. At the same time, Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra respectfully invited Minister Yeon Won Jeong to visit Vietnam and have a working session to sign the memorandum of understanding at the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs from August to October 2024.
