Laos has two distinct seasons: the rainy season and the dry season. The rainy season lasts from June to October, and the dry season from November to May of the following year. Built and developed over more than 1,000 years, the capital city of Vientiane boasts a unique culture along the Mekong River. Among its most famous attractions is the Patuxay Arch. At Patuxay, you can admire the distinctive cultural features of Laos through the Kinari statue, the reliefs depicting the Ramayana epic, and the seven towers showcasing the rich Lao architectural style.

Patuxay is a prominent architectural landmark on Lane Xang Avenue.

After visiting Patuxay, you can head to the end of Lane Xang Avenue to admire Pha That Luang – a World Heritage site and the symbol of the "Land of a Million Elephants".

Built in 1566 on the ruins of a 13th-century Indian temple, Pha That Luang boasts a gold-plated exterior and is the largest and most beautiful stupa in Laos. Surrounding the main stupa are three massive walls adorned with lotus petals and other magnificent smaller stupas. Within the Pha That Luang complex are two smaller temples: Wat That Luang Neua to the north and Wat That Luang Tai to the south.

Another popular tourist attraction is Xiengkuane Buddha Park, located in Thadeua village, about 25 km east of Vientiane city center. The park is considered a magnificent sculptural work with over 200 Buddha statues of various sizes and shapes, possessing a timeless, ancient beauty.
