Cambodian football aspires to reach world-class status. |
According to the roadmap announced by the FFC, the Cambodian national team aims to reach the semi-finals of the Southeast Asian Championship (ASEAN Cup) in 2028 and 2030. This is considered an important stepping stone for Cambodian football to assert its position in the region.
By 2032, Cambodia aims to qualify for the Asian Cup finals, specifically by reaching the group stage of the continent's most prestigious tournament. If this goal is achieved, it will be a historic milestone, marking a significant leap forward for Cambodian football on the Asian map.
The biggest ambition in the plan is to qualify for the World Cup in 2042 and 2046. This is a long-term goal, requiring systematic investment in youth training, infrastructure, the domestic competition system, and a sustainable development strategy.
The FFC asserts that it is not making empty slogans, but rather a vision built on a comprehensive restructuring of Cambodian football. From youth development and improving the quality of the national league to strengthening international cooperation, Cambodia is gradually preparing for a long-term journey.
"Building the future step by step" is the overarching message in FFC's plan. With a clear strategy and strong determination, Cambodian football dreams of rising above the region and reaching the biggest stage in world football within the next two decades.
