Through investments in numerous construction projects, including public lighting systems and urban infrastructure, the nighttime appearance of Dien Bien Phu, a mountainous city, has undergone significant changes. A simple evening stroll reveals that the inner city streets are now fully illuminated. Major thoroughfares are mostly lit with modern LED lights, along with decorative lighting, creating a colorful nighttime spectacle for Dien Bien Phu. Like a long-sleeping mountain maiden awakened, the city's nightlife has become more vibrant than before, creating many tourism products to serve both locals and visitors to Dien Bien.
According to information from the Urban Management Department of Dien Bien Phu City, the city's street lighting system has a total length of approximately 60km with 3,000 poles and lights. In addition, there are 68 decorative streetlights along various routes, including: 38 on Vo Nguyen Giap Street; 15 on Truong Chinh and Hoang Van Thai Streets; and 15 on the road from Bridge A1 to C4… Dien Bien Phu City is continuing its urban beautification efforts to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory with a project to repair and upgrade the decorative lighting system on Nguyen Huu Tho and Vo Nguyen Giap streets.
