A member of the group Big Bang is the next big name in the South Korean entertainment industry to be investigated, just days after police discovered actor Lee Sun Kyun using drugs at an adult entertainment establishment in Gangnam, Seoul (South Korea).

A Seoul police representative stated, "We have filed charges against Mr. Kwon after investigating his alleged violations of drug laws. The investigation is ongoing, so we cannot disclose further details at this time."
Following reports in the South Korean media that G-Dragon was under investigation for drug use, his management company, YG Entertainment, stated, "It's difficult to give a precise answer as he is not currently an artist under our agency."
G-Dragon reportedly parted ways with YG Entertainment last October after nearly 20 years. The South Korean pop star is said to have signed a contract with the American record label Warner Records and is planning a comeback to the music market after a few months' break.
This isn't the first time G-Dragon has gotten into trouble related to drugs. In 2011, he was caught smoking marijuana at a nightclub in South Korea. However, the singer wasn't investigated because the amount used was small, and there was no evidence to prove that G-Dragon regularly used illegal substances.
In 2014, G-Dragon continued to cause controversy when he posted a picture with the word Molly and white powder scattered around it.
G-Dragon (born 1988) is the lead vocalist, rapper, and songwriter for the South Korean boy group Big Bang. He is considered by Korean and Asian media to be the "king of K-pop" (Korean pop music).
The male singer officially entered the entertainment industry in 2006 as the leader of Big Bang, bringing immense fame to the boy band, which became one of the most commercially valuable groups in South Korea.
G-Dragon's solo album, Heartbreaker , released in 2009, also became the best-selling album by a South Korean pop artist at the time and won Album of the Year at the 2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
Beyond his success in music, he is also considered a fashion icon in South Korea and collaborates creatively with major brands thanks to his unique style and large fan base.
In 2023, the South Korean entertainment industry witnessed several famous artists facing legal troubles due to drug-related offenses. First, the talented young actor Yoo Ah In was prosecuted for drug use. He tested positive for five different drugs and had to appear in court.
Recently, Lee Sun Kyun, the actor from the movie Parasite , was also involved in a drug scandal. The South Korean star was even blackmailed for 300 million won (approximately 5.4 billion VND) by a drug dealer who exploited his fame.
