At the 2025 Green Wave Awards ceremony, singer Hoa Minzy impressed with her spectacular performance of "Bac Bling ," bringing the entire Bac Ninh festival with lion dances, dragon dances, flag dances, and more onto the stage.
Besides the usual collaboration between Hoa Minzy and songwriter Tuan Cry, the performance caused a sensation with rapper Captain Boy lending his voice.
On the Green Wave stage, Hoa Minzy sang live smoothly, performing and interacting confidently and fluently.
The performance attracted attention because four days earlier, the singer had caused controversy with her live rendition of "Bắc Bling" at a show. Due to improvisational singing combined with serious sound issues, she lost control of her voice, constantly singing off-key and out of tune in the verses, and hitting strained, bad high notes in the chorus.
The impromptu performance received much criticism. Some comments expressed surprise because Hoa Minzy is generally considered to have a good singing voice and vocal technique.
On the social media platform Threads, some accounts suggested that Hoa Minzy's decision to bring Bac Bling onto the awards stage with a polished performance, pleasing both the eyes and ears of the audience, was her way of "getting revenge" for the recent incident.
