The Cat Lai interchange on the Hanoi - Vo Nguyen Giap Highway is a vital transportation artery running through Thu Duc City, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the southeastern provinces. 
Fifty years after the liberation of South Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Ho Chi Minh City is developing into a leading urban center and financial hub in Southeast Asia. 
The central area of Ho Chi Minh City is a modern, developed area along the Saigon River. 
The Thu Thiem Tunnel across the Saigon River is the most modern river crossing tunnel in Southeast Asia, opened to traffic in 2011, connecting Vo Van Kiet Street (District 1) to Mai Chi Tho Street (Thu Duc City).

Bitexco Financial Tower, also known as Bitexco Financial Tower, is one of the symbols of Ho Chi Minh City. Standing at 262m tall, it was inaugurated in 2010 and became the tallest tower in the city until Landmark 81 was completed in 2018.
The Ba Son Bridge connects Ton Duc Thang Street (District 1) to the Thu Thiem urban area. This cable-stayed structure, with its main tower, is considered a symbolic gateway from the city center to the Thu Thiem urban area. 
The Ba Son Bridge has become a project that has contributed to changing the urban landscape of modern Ho Chi Minh City. 
Landmark 81 is the tallest building in Vietnam and the second tallest in Southeast Asia. Considered a new symbol of the city, it sits atop the Saigon River, at the northeastern gateway – a crucial transportation hub connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the southeastern provinces.
