Vietnam is the first country in the world to start selling iPhones.
In the early hours of September 10th, Apple officially launched the iPhone 17 series along with the Apple Watch Series 11, Watch Ultra 3, Watch SE 3, and AirPods Pro 3. Immediately after the event, major domestic retailers announced that they were accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 17.

A notable feature this year is that Vietnam is included in the group of markets with early launch dates, instead of having to wait 1-2 weeks as in previous years.
Retail chains are simultaneously opening pre-orders.
From September 12th, customers in Vietnam can pre-order the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air at various retailers such asFPT Shop, F.Studio, Viettel Store, CellphoneS, and Di Dong Viet. The first devices will be delivered to customers on September 19th.
FPT Shop announced that the starting price for the iPhone 17 is 24.99 million VND, along with promotional programs and installment payment options.

Viettel Store also opened pre-orders from 7 PM on September 12th, committing to delivering devices as early as 8 AM on September 19th.

CellphoneS launched the product simultaneously to ensure customers could own it as soon as possible.

High demand for the Pro Max version and new colors.
According to data from Di Dong Viet, in recent years, the Pro and Pro Max models have consistently accounted for the majority of pre-orders. With the iPhone 17, the Pro Max version is predicted to continue leading the market thanks to its upgraded camera, chip, and especially the first-ever Cosmic Orange color, which promises to set a trend this year.
iPhone 12 and 13 users are predicted to be the group most likely to upgrade to the standard iPhone 17 series.
Notably, the iPhone 17 is the first generation of iPhones to support Wi-Fi 7, providing faster and more stable internet speeds. Vietnam is also one of the few countries that has deployed Wi-Fi 7 on its XGS-PON infrastructure, provided by FPT Telecom. This allows iPhone 17 buyers in Vietnam to enjoy the strongest network connection right from the product's launch.
The market for imported iPhones has been affected.
According to many experts, the early release of the iPhone 17 in Vietnam will reduce the appeal of imported iPhones. Previously, many people had to queue in Singapore or Hong Kong to buy the new iPhone. But with the ability to pre-order and receive the device domestically, customers will prioritize official products to ensure warranty and after-sales service.
