High-end flower villages in Lam Dong are bustling with activity for Tet (Lunar New Year).

TPO - With nearly a month left until the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake, orchid growers in Lam Dong are busy entering the planting season to ensure timely supply to the market. At this time, the flower gardens are displaying vibrant colors, ready to welcome the New Year.

These days, the family of Mr. Do Van An in Da Lat City (Lam Dong province) is preparing their garden to plant flowers and pack goods for the Tet market.

The phalaenopsis and cymbidium orchids are sourced from local farmers, then carefully inspected and sorted before being potted.

According to Mr. An, packaging flowers must be done very carefully to protect them from damage during transportation.

"For many years, our family has always imported large quantities of flowers during Tet to meet the needs of customers both inside and outside the province," Mr. An said.

Similarly, in Da Ron commune (Don Duong district), Phan Thanh Sang's flower garden is also preparing flowers for Tet, increasing the workforce to care for the flowers.

According to Mr. Ha So Rem, an employee at Mr. Sang's garden, the flower harvesting begins in mid-November of the lunar calendar and the flowers are packed into specialized cardboard boxes for transportation.

Currently, Sang's farm packs about 150 crates per day and will double that during the peak Tet holiday season. To meet the large number of orders, workers work from morning to night, even until 11 PM every day during peak periods.

In Lam Dong province, there are 750 hectares of land dedicated to flower cultivation, including 100 hectares of Phalaenopsis orchids, producing 15 million pots annually. Currently, growers have adopted advanced technology in flower production, improving quality and meeting market demands.
