According to Lao Dong, currently, a series of schools in Hanoi have announced that students will switch to online learning due to the impact of storms and floods.

Tay Mo 3 Primary School issued an urgent notice on the morning of October 7: According to information from the hydrometeorological agency, storm No. 11 is causing heavy rain and storms over a large area in Hanoi. To ensure safety, all students will study online at home.

Chu Van An Secondary School (Thanh Tri), Chu Van An Secondary School (Tay Ho), Le Quy Don High School (Dong Da), Nghia Tan Primary School,... also informed students to study online to ensure safety in rainy, windy, and thundery weather.

Ms. Thu Hoai, a parent whose child studies at Le Quy Don High School (Dong Da), shared that early this morning she received a notice from the school allowing her two children to stop studying online.

"The last time the rain came, the three of us had to struggle to get home because many areas were flooded. This time, the schools made timely decisions to ensure the safety of the children and their parents," said Ms. Hoai.

Previously, on the evening of October 6, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training sent urgent notice No. 3 on proactively responding to heavy rain caused by storm No. 11 (Matmo).

Accordingly, to ensure absolute safety for students, teachers and school facilities, the Department allows school principals to proactively decide whether to let students attend school in person or study online or adjust timetables, based on actual weather conditions in the area and facility conditions.

Schools also need to closely monitor weather developments, check and clear drainage systems, schoolyards, cafeterias, and boarding areas, arrange staff on duty, update and quickly report on rain and flooding situations that affect teaching and learning activities to the Department of Education and Training for synthesis and handling according to regulations.
