Visitors can present a valid e-visa as proof if Australian customs officials refuse to stamp their visas.
In response to reader Dung Dung's question about how to prove a trip to Australia to qualify for a waiver of financial proof requirements when applying for a multiple-entry tourist visa to South Korea, a representative from the Visa Center, Consular Section of the Korean Embassy in Hanoi, stated that only a valid Australian visa (type 600) needs to be submitted. In the case of an e-visa, a printed copy should be included with the application.
In other cases, Vietnamese citizens can go to the Australian Embassy in Hanoi or the Australian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City to request information about their immigration history.
Since 2015, Australia has stopped using paper visas (stamped in passports), adopting electronic visas in all cases. Additionally, customs officials no longer stamp passports with entry and exit stamps.
Based on the experience of a visa service agency and some people who have traveled to Australia, travelers should proactively request a visa stamp upon entry and exit to facilitate future travel and to prove their visit to Australia. You can ask customs or airport staff directly where to get the stamp.
