After a period of renovation and landscaping, the Cau Da Villa (Bao Dai's Palace) in Nha Trang ( Khanh Hoa province) has reopened to the public and tourists.

With its architectural value and natural landscape, this place has become a tourist destination that captivates visitors.

The Bao Dai Palace is situated on a hillside overlooking Nha Trang Bay. A striking feature of the site is its harmonious natural landscape. The grounds boast a variety of trees, ornamental plants, and diverse vegetation, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. This setting allows visitors to appreciate the serene and luxurious beauty of a renowned resort once associated with King Bao Dai.

The Bảo Đại Palace complex comprises five villas named Nghinh Phong (also known as Xương Rồng), Vọng Nguyệt (also known as Hoa Sứ), Hoa Giấy, Phượng Vỹ, and Cây Bàng, all featuring distinctly French architecture and built in 1923. Between 1940 and 1945, King Bảo Đại and Queen Nam Phương, along with their family, frequently visited this complex for relaxation and recreation, hence its name, Bảo Đại Palace. Currently, only the Nghinh Phong and Vọng Nguyệt villas are open to visitors; the other three are still undergoing restoration and repair.

Reporters from the Vietnam News Agency observed a large number of local residents and tourists visiting and taking photos at the famous old villa complex associated with the legacy of King Bao Dai - the last king of the Nguyen dynasty.

“The space here is airy, with lots of greenery and a beautiful panoramic view of Nha Trang Bay. What I like most is the peaceful atmosphere, with a classic resort feel that is completely different from the bustling atmosphere of the city center,” commented Ms. Nguyen Minh Anh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.

As a TikToker, Dinh Trong Duy (Hanoi) has explored the entire historical site and captured many beautiful images. He shared that each villa has its own unique beauty, from the windows and corridors to the wooden interior furnishings, all creating a feeling of luxury yet closeness to nature.

From the villa complex, one can enjoy a panoramic view of Nha Trang Bay, especially in the morning or late afternoon when the atmosphere is very pleasant. Adding more documentation, images, artifacts, and integrating QR codes for informational purposes would make the visiting experience even more appealing. Authorities should also place more signage along Tran Phu Street so visitors can access information before entering.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province announced that the Cau Da Villa historical site is open to visitors free of charge from Monday to Friday every week. The two villas, Xương Rồng (Nghinh Phong) and Bông Sứ (Vọng Nguyệt), within the Cau Da Villa complex have been reinforced and repaired. Artifacts and items have also been rearranged to better serve the public's learning needs. The management unit has also deployed sufficient personnel, from security and cleaning staff to tour guides, to assist visitors.

Previously, in 2011, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province allowed Khanh Ha Investment Joint Stock Company to implement the Bao Dai high-end resort project and allocated nearly 9 hectares of land and 4.7 hectares of sea surface (including 5 ancient villas). During the implementation process, authorities identified numerous violations by the investor, including encroachment on scenic landscapes. In 2023, after Khanh Ha Company requested to return the 5 ancient villas at Bao Dai Palace, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province accepted them and assigned the Khanh Hoa Center for Conservation of Historical Relics to manage them.

In November 2025, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to inspect and protect the relics, clean up the landscape, and temporarily reinforce and repair dilapidated items while awaiting comprehensive restoration.../.
