At approximately 6:30 PM on May 29th, a car suddenly caught fire on Road No. 19, Riverside Residential Area, Tan Hung Ward, causing panic among local residents.

Immediately after discovering the incident, the vehicle owner and nearby residents quickly used portable fire extinguishers to put out the fire. However, the fire originated in the engine compartment, so initial efforts were ineffective.

Thanks to the security camera system, the Tan Hung Ward's local security and order team, stationed at the riverside checkpoint, promptly detected the fire. Team members Dinh Cong Nghiep, Duong Ngoc Tai, and Tran Thanh Minh Khoi immediately arrived at the scene and reported the incident to the ward police and the fire and rescue services for assistance.

When numerous fire extinguishers were used but the fire remained uncontrolled, three members of the facility's security team used their professional knowledge to cover the burning area with soil and sand from the roadside, isolating the oxygen from the flammable materials. Thanks to their calmness and decisive action, the fire was completely extinguished before the fire department arrived.

Fortunately, the incident did not cause any casualties, but it did damage part of the vehicle's engine compartment. The cause and specific extent of the damage are currently being investigated by the authorities.

This incident once again affirms the particularly important role of local security and civil defense forces. These forces are close to the people, are the first to arrive when fires, explosions, or accidents occur, contributing to the timely handling of situations from the outset and minimizing damage to people and property.
