There are many causes, including social and psychological factors, age, illness, depression, or hormonal imbalances.

But ruling out the above causes, have gentlemen ever wondered if their dinner might be the reason for their decreased libido? Therefore, to avoid becoming a victim of this condition, it's important to review your diet.

Foods to avoid that can reduce libido:

Foods high in saturated fat. Greasy foods like french fries or chips contain high amounts of trans fats, which can lead to abnormal sperm production and decreased libido.

1. Refined carbohydrates. Avoid eating large amounts of pasta, cereals, bread, and cookies that contain high levels of white flour, a refined carbohydrate that can lower testosterone levels. This can lead to weight gain in men, increased estrogen levels but decreased testosterone, causing a decline in libido.

2. Soy-based foods . One study showed that consuming more than 120mg of soy per day can negatively impact reproductive health. Eating large amounts of tofu, soybeans, or other soy products may reduce sperm count and testosterone levels.

3. Soft drinks . Artificial sweeteners like aspartame (not a saccharide) present in all soft or carbonated drinks for flavor are the culprits behind decreased serotonin levels, the hormone primarily responsible for libido.

4. Alcohol . This is obvious because drinking too much alcohol can cause erectile dysfunction or difficulty achieving orgasm. Alcohol also causes drowsiness and loss of interest. It reduces blood flow to the penis and decreases the intensity of pleasure.

5. Refined sugar . Eating too much sugar causes the body to constantly increase insulin levels in the blood, which reduces testosterone and consequently leads to decreased libido.

In short, pay attention to what you eat, but if this condition persists, review underlying conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, or depression... and consult with specialists.
