The method for calculating admission scores to 10th grade in public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City is as follows:
Admission score = Literature exam score + Foreign language exam score + Mathematics exam score + Priority points (if any).
How to calculate admission scores for specialized schools:
Admission score = Literature exam score + Foreign language exam score + Mathematics exam score + Specialized subject exam score x 2.
In this system, the scores for each subject are calculated on a 10-point scale. Successful candidates must take all three exams and not receive a score of 0 on any exam.
According to the plan, on June 24th, the Department will announce the cut-off scores for specialized and integrated 10th-grade classes, as well as the results of direct admissions.
On July 10th, the cut-off scores for admission to regular 10th grade classes are announced.
From July 11th to August 1st, successful candidates confirm their enrollment.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City took place on June 6th and 7th at 158 testing locations. Of these, 147 were for regular 10th grade classes and 11 for specialized 10th grade classes. The total number of examination rooms was 4,334.
The total number of candidates participating in the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City is 98,681. The total number of places available in public 10th grade classes is over 77,000.
Candidates take three compulsory subjects: Literature, Mathematics, and Foreign Language, plus a specialized or integrated subject exam (if they have applied for a specialized or integrated 10th-grade class).
