Thua Thien - Hue Lang Co is located along National Highway 1A, at the foot of Hai Van Pass, with a long beach, white sand and clear blue water.
Lang Co town is more than 60 km from Hue city and about 25 km from Da Nang in Phu Loc district. Nestled between the branches of Truong Son mountain range jutting out to the sea, with Hai Van pass on one side and Phu Gia pass on the other, near Chan May port, Lang Co appears as a beautiful and long range of sand dunes. Lang Co area also has tropical forests.
Lang Co Bay is 42.5 km long, with clear blue water, fine white sand, and a diverse ecosystem. This is one of the famous scenic spots and tourist destinations of Thua Thien - Hue province, considered by King Khai Dinh as a "fairyland". In 2009, Lang Co Bay was voted into the list of "Most beautiful bays in the world " by Worldbays.
Beautiful season
The best time to explore Lang Co Bay is from April to early August.
Located near Da Nang, Lang Co is still north of Hai Van Pass, influenced by the northern climate, so it has distinct winter and summer seasons. The average annual temperature is 24-25 degrees Celsius, in which winter can drop to 10 degrees Celsius, summer is nearly 40 degrees Celsius. However, because this area has a large Cau Hai lagoon, the impact of storms and floods, hot dry westerly winds is not as severe as other places in Thua Thien Hue province.
Lang Co also has a rainy season from September to December, with the two rainiest months being October and November.
Move
Lang Co is located along National Highway 1A, right at the foot of Hai Van Pass, so it is convenient to travel by road such as private car or passenger bus.
If traveling by train or plane, visitors should choose Da Nang as their destination. Travel time from the airport/train station to Lang Co is about 1 hour and 15 minutes. If traveling to Hue, the travel time will double.
Airfares range from 2 million to 5 million VND round trip, depending on the time. The fastest train fare is around 2 million VND.
Accommodation
Lang Co has a diverse system of motels, hotels and resorts, serving many types of guests. Budget hotels are located along Highway 1A, with prices ranging from 300,000 VND per night. Some highly rated addresses on booking websites are BH Villa Lang Co, Ha Phuong Homestay, Anh Dung Guesthouse.
More upscale accommodations include Lang Co Beach Resort. This resort is located right on Highway 1A, in the town center, with 4-star standards, a large swimming pool and minimal amenities for visitors. Room rates at Lang Co Beach Resort range from 700,000 VND per night, depending on the time.
About 20 km from the town center are two 5-star resorts, Angsana Lang Co and Banyan Tree Lang Co, on the Canh Duong coast. The two resorts have high-end amenities such as large swimming pools, golf courses, gyms, and spas.
Angsana Lang Co has 229 rooms ranging from 52 m2 to 179 m2, more than 100 rooms with private pools from 3 million VND per night. The interior is designed in a traditional style, but still has a modern style, with environmentally friendly materials such as bamboo, rattan, palm trees creating the feeling of being in the middle of Hue houses.
Located next to Angsana Lang Co is Banyan Tree Lang Co. This is one of the most luxurious resorts in Central Vietnam, with 72 villas, each with a private pool, ranging from one to three bedrooms. Room rates start at VND8 million per night. Banyan Tree focuses on biodiversity activities and relaxing experiences for visitors.

In Phu Loc district, there are many destinations for tourists to experience and beautiful photo spots.
Bach Ma National Park
Bach Ma National Park is about 30 km from Lang Co town center. The terrain in the national park is mountainous and steep. Bach Ma peak is 1,450 m high, an ideal place for many tourists who love trekking. If you have time, you can trek the entire route in 2-3 days, or combine trekking and driving to the top in about 6-7 hours.
Hai Vong Dai on the top, Do Quyen waterfall, Ngu Ho with the five most beautiful lakes in Bach Ma forest, clear and cool streams... are places not to be missed on the trekking journey. You can stay overnight outside the garden gate, in an old French villa on the way to the top or camp in the national park area.

Hai Van Pass
Hai Van Quan was built in 1826, is a military fortification guarding the top of Hai Van Pass, which is also the geographical boundary of Thua Thien - Hue Province and Da Nang City. Hai Van Quan crosses a mountain range jutting out into the sea from the Truong Son mountain range. The top of Hai Van Pass is about 15 km from Lang Co. This is also a beautiful place to admire Lang Co Bay. Visitors can stroll around in the morning or afternoon, stopping to drink coffee at the top.
Lap An Lagoon
The lagoon is located at the foot of Phu Gia Pass, about 5 km from Lang Co town center, surrounded by Bach Ma Mountain. Visitors should come to the lagoon early in the morning, when the tide is low, to see the path through the lagoon. This was also a favorite fishing spot of King Khai Dinh and Bao Dai every summer. Near the lagoon, there is a small fishing village with local seafood restaurants, an ideal place to have lunch and explore Lang Co's specialties.

Don Ca Arch Bridge
Don Ca Arch Bridge is located at the foot of Hai Van Pass. Around 1881-1885, the first railway line in Vietnam, 70 km long, connecting Saigon - My Tho, was started by the French. By the beginning of the 20th century, the route continued to be built through Hai Van Pass with a total length of 28 km, with 18 bridges, including Don Ca Arch Bridge. The bridge was inaugurated around 1906, with an architecture of 4 arches, built mainly of stone, 20 m high and about 100 m long. Currently, the bridge has an important meaning in the North-South railway line and is a check-in location that attracts young people.
Not on the national highway, but the bridge is quite easy to find. From the center of Hue or Da Nang city, you go towards Hai Van Bac station, near Hai Van Quan. From Hai Van Bac station, continue about 1 km.

The beaches
Lang Co Bay has many beautiful beaches, of which Canh Duong, Lang Co and Binh An are the three most prominent. At Canh Duong beach, dawn is the most beautiful time of the day. Visitors can watch the sun gradually rise from the horizon, embracing the crescent-shaped beach, the sunlight shining down on the sea creating a sparkling effect. There are also many camping services and tent rentals on the beach. Visitors can rent a boat from fishermen to explore the sea at the foot of Hai Van Pass.
What to eat
Seafood is farmed and caught right in Lang Co Bay, which is quite rich and of high quality. A special thing about Lang Co is that you can stop to eat at any small roadside restaurant, especially the area below Lang Co slope. A full bowl of seafood porridge for breakfast costs from 25,000 VND, or a nutritious lunch costs about 200,000 VND to 300,000 VND per person.
There are some famous delicious seafood here such as oysters, shrimp, squid, abalone. Some famous addresses are Viet Long floating restaurant, Minh Tam restaurant, Be Than, Anh Phi, Vietpearl. In addition, floating rafts in Lap An lagoon area are also an option for tourists.
Note
Hai Van Pass Tunnel is only for cars, so if tourists ride a motorbike up the pass, when returning to Lang Co they will also have to go through the pass, or leave the motorbike on a transport vehicle.
Some beaches in Lang Co do not have warning signs and lifeguards on duty, so when swimming you should avoid deep water to ensure safety.
There are not many entertainment activities in Lang Co at night because it is quite far from the city center.
