AI Camera Detects More Than 3,000 Traffic Violations in Ho Chi Minh City

Over the past month, the artificial intelligence camera system of the Traffic Police Department - Ho Chi Minh City Police has detected more than 3,100 traffic violations such as running red lights, speeding, driving in the wrong lane or stopping and parking illegally.

In Ho Chi Minh City, there are currently more than 530 traffic surveillance cameras, 31 AI cameras at key intersections and 47 AI cameras installed by the Traffic Police Department to monitor speed, recognize license plates and detect violations. AI cameras can automatically detect and record violations, transmit data to the command center for verification, processing and sending notifications to violators via the electronic system. The processing process is carried out objectively and transparently, helping to shorten the time and reduce manual work for the traffic police force.

In fact, in many areas where AI cameras have been installed, the number of people running red lights, driving in the wrong lane, and using phones while driving has decreased significantly, contributing to raising awareness of traffic law compliance among city residents.
