The meteorological agency issued the latest bulletin about exceptionally large floods on the Cau and Thuong rivers, warning of flooding in Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Ninh in the coming days.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said, flood on Cau River (Bac Ninh) peaked at 7.52m (11pm on October 9), 1.22m above alert level 3 and slowly receding. Floods on the Trung River ( Lang Son ) and the Thuong River (Bac Ninh) continue to recede.
Water level at 1:00 a.m. on October 10 on Cau River at Dap Cau station was 7.52m, on BĐ3 1.22m.
On Thuong River at Cau Son station 17.70m, on BĐ3 1.70m; at Phu Lang Thuong station 7.54m, on BĐ3 1.24m, above the historical flood in 1986 (7.53m) 0.01m.
On Trung River at Huu Lung station 22.11m, above level 3 3.11m, below historical level in 1986 (22.54m) 0.43m.

It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the flood on Cau River at Dap Cau station will slowly recede and be above level 3. The flood on Thuong River at Cau Son station and Phu Lang Thuong station, and on Trung River at Huu Lung station will continue to recede and be above level 3.
In the next 12-24 hours, floods on rivers will continue to recede and remain above level 3.
Warning, in the next 24 hours, flood on Luc Nam river (Bac Ninh) at Luc Nam station, flood on Thai Binh river (Hai Phong) at Pha Lai station will decrease and be above level 1.
"Due to the operation of the opening of 3 bottom spillways and the generation of electricity by Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant (the 3rd bottom spillway opens at 7:00 p.m. on October 9), the water level on Gam River and Lo River (Tuyen Quang) will rise rapidly with a flood amplitude of 1-3m.
During this flood, the peak water level on Gam River will be at level BĐ2 and above BĐ2, on Lo River will be below level BĐ1". meteorological agency commented.
