(NLDO) - Many delegates from Ho Chi Minh City burst into tears when witnessing the difficulties and hardships of the officers and soldiers on the oil rigs who are day and night firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.
On November 11, a working delegation of the Navy led by Rear Admiral Pham Nhu Xuan, Deputy Commander of the Navy, and a delegation of Ho Chi Minh City led by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Fatherland Front Committee, visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of DK1/10 Platform.
Members of the Ho Chi Minh City delegation were moved to express their special affection for the officers and soldiers of the DK1/10 Platform with hugs, handshakes, and messages. Many delegates cried when witnessing the difficulties and hardships of the officers and soldiers who are determined day and night to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc could not contain his emotions when talking with the officers and soldiers of the rig. According to the Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, this is a great source of inspiration and encouragement for the members of the delegation, civil servants, public employees... to continue to strive and contribute more to society and the country.
Ms. Thi Do Nhat Kim burst into tears when witnessing the hardships of the officers and soldiers on the rig.
"I am very touched, proud and happy to see the officers and soldiers of the rig, the "front line" of the storm, making efforts to overcome difficulties and always trying to complete the assigned tasks in the past time. You are the ones who keep your guns steady, support the fishermen, ensure combat readiness activities, and firmly protect the sovereignty of the Fatherland" - Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc emphasized.
At the rig, the delegation gave many meaningful gifts to officers and soldiers, such as medicine, milk...
Captain Nguyen Dinh Duc, Commander of DK1/10 Platform, affirmed that no matter how difficult it is, the officers and soldiers here, together with the Coast Guard, Fisheries Surveillance and Navy Region 2, will unite and be determined to overcome all difficulties and hardships, steadfastly stick to their positions; strive to study, train, improve their professional qualifications and skills, and be ready to fight to protect the sovereignty of the Fatherland.
Talking with the officers and soldiers of the rig, Ms. Thi Do Nhat Kim, teacher in charge of the team - Phu Dong Primary School (District 6, Ho Chi Minh City), burst into tears because she was touched by their great sacrifice.
"Despite unfavorable weather, shortages, and being far from home... the officers and soldiers on the rig still wholeheartedly protect the Fatherland. This is an immeasurable sacrifice," said Ms. Kim.

After finishing the visit to DK1/10 Platform, the delegation of Ho Chi Minh City arrived at Tho Chu Island, Kien Giang Province.
