Mazda has just officially introduced the new generation CX-5, marking the expected return of the best-selling CUV model in the company's history.

The newly launched Mazda CX-5 2026 SUV has a more impressive and sturdy appearance thanks to its size adjustment. Accordingly, the length of the car is increased by 114 mm, the wheelbase is increased by 76 mm and the width is 13 mm higher than the previous generation.

Still loyal to the Kodo Design philosophy, but the 2026 Mazda CX-5 brings significant changes in appearance. The front of the car impresses with the Signature Wing-style extended grille.

The car has sharp LED headlights and a sportier front bumper. The body lines are sharper, and the extended rear doors help improve the ability to get in and out for rear passengers.

At the rear of the car is a slim LED taillight cluster combined with the word "MAZDA" replacing the traditional logo, along with dual exhaust pipes and glossy black details, creating a modern look without losing its identity.

The interior of the 2026 CX-5 is imbued with Mazda's signature "less is more" philosophy. The modern, tiered dashboard design combined with a 15.6-inch touchscreen integrated with the Google operating system, supporting Google Maps and Google Play is a highlight.

Mazda continues to pursue the trend of "minimalist physical buttons", transferring most of the control operations to the touch screen. The car is also equipped with a fully digital clock, a newly designed steering wheel with the word "Mazda", a panoramic sunroof, upgraded seats and a 7-color interior ambient lighting system.

Thanks to the increased overall dimensions, the space for the rear seats has also been significantly expanded in terms of legroom, headroom and luggage compartment length (increased by 51 mm). This is a big plus for the family customer group, which is the main target of this segment.

Powering the 2026 Mazda CX-5 is still the SkyActiv-G 2.5L naturally aspirated gasoline engine, producing 187 horsepower and 251 Nm of maximum torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission and standard full-time 4-wheel drive.

Although the technical specifications have not changed, Mazda said the transmission system on the new generation CX-5 SUV has been refined to improve smoothness, responsiveness and comfort during operation.

Notably, Mazda confirmed that it will launch a hybrid version of the car in 2027, using new engine technology called SkyActiv-Z, which promises to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions, in line with the global electrification trend.

The 2026 Mazda CX-5 will officially hit the US market early next year. The specific price has not been announced, but it will likely be slightly higher than the starting price of 28,770 USD (equivalent to 751.27 million VND) of the current version.
