The Vietnam Stock Exchange advises investors to exercise caution and thoroughly research any offers to participate in stock market investments, to avoid being scammed in stock trading activities.

According to a recent announcement from the Vietnam Stock Exchange (VNX), after reviewing the situation, the exchange has received information about the impersonation and misuse of the VNX logo and images on social media platforms such as Facebook.

This impersonation is used to advertise participation in Zalo groups about stock market teaching, and to solicit participation in stock investment classes featuring images of Mr. Can Van Luc and Mr. Pham Le Thai on pages named Stock exchange, Investment teaching, Stock market teaching, Stock market club, Thai Pham...

The Vietnam Stock Exchange (VSE) affirms that, to date, the VSE, along with the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) and the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), have not invited participation in any securities investment training programs or groups. The VSE advises investors to exercise caution and thoroughly investigate any invitations to participate in securities investment activities to avoid being scammed.

Previously, the State Securities Commission and many securities companies had warned about the proliferation of impersonation through websites and social media aimed at financial fraud. Even SSI Securities Corporation recently discovered a Zalo chat group impersonating the company and its senior executives, conducting live investment advisory sessions. The fraudsters created fake Zalo accounts and used AI technology to impersonate Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of SSI. SSI Securities recommends that investors increase their vigilance and be cautious when conducting transactions in the digital environment.

Similarly, VNDirect Securities Joint Stock Company has repeatedly tried to address and warn customers, advising them to be highly vigilant about issues such as impersonating VNDirect employees, offering securities courses, creating fake websites/applications, and impersonating police officers to request customers to provide securities account information.

In late August 2024, the State Securities Commission also advised people to be vigilant when receiving phone calls from strangers; to be cautious and consider carefully to avoid being lured into participating in applications (apps), forums, and groups on the internet with the purpose of investing in stocks. Investors participating in the stock market need to equip themselves with knowledge about stocks and the stock market, and seek information related to the stock market from official channels of the regulatory agency, market operators, and securities business organizations with the function of advising and brokering securities that have been licensed by the State Securities Commission, to avoid being scammed or having their assets misappropriated.

In case of suspicion or detection of individuals impersonating securities companies or fund management companies, providing false information, or engaging in other fraudulent activities, citizens are urged to immediately report it to the authorities for handling according to the law.
