Recently, many individuals have been exploiting the demand for jobs, especially for employment in countries like Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan (China), to commit fraud and embezzle property.
These individuals often post job advertisements with attractive salaries on social media platforms like Facebook and Zalo to lure workers. They then impersonate employees of labor export companies to gain trust, requesting personal information, identification documents, and money transfers under the pretext of processing applications, deposits, or service fees.
More sophisticatedly, these perpetrators also entice people to install applications from unknown sources or access fake links, thereby gaining control of their phones and bank accounts and stealing their assets. In fact, there have been many cases of people being scammed out of large sums of money, causing serious damage.
In light of the above situation, the Hong Quang Ward Police Station, Ninh Binh Province, advises the public:
• Never transfer money to strangers you meet through social media under any circumstances.
• Do not provide personal information, account numbers, or OTP codes to anyone, including those claiming to be employees of the company or bank.
• Do not install unfamiliar apps, and do not access links from unknown sources sent via text messages or social media.
• When seeking employment abroad, people should conduct thorough research and only work directly with licensed businesses that have clear addresses.
• Be wary of offers of "easy work, high pay," or unusually high income compared to reality.
When detecting any suspicious signs related to fraudulent activity, citizens should immediately report it to the nearest police station for guidance and handling.
Every citizen needs to raise their awareness and proactively protect their own and their family's property, while actively cooperating with the police force in preventing and combating all types of crime, contributing to maintaining security and order in the area.
