From the afternoon of June 16th to 17th, Cao Bang province experienced widespread heavy rain, tornadoes, and localized landslides in some areas, causing damage to houses, crops, transportation, and irrigation systems.
Heavy rains, storms, floods, landslides, and rockfalls occurred in the communes of Can Yen, Truong Ha, Dam Thuy, Ly Quoc, Yen Tho, Canh Tan, Thach An, and Bao Lam, affecting one house in Quoc Thai hamlet, Can Yen commune due to a landslide; over 12 hectares of crops were damaged; National Highway 4A was flooded at Km159+270, Nguom Bang cave, Ly Quoc commune; two rural roads were affected by landslides with a volume of 32 cubic meters; and 12 meters of irrigation canal in Ta Cap hamlet were damaged by landslides.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the People's Committee and the Civil Defense Command of the communes deployed personnel to assess the damage in their areas, and mobilized local forces to assist people in repairing their homes.
The roads in Canh Tan and Thach An communes have been temporarily repaired to ensure traffic flow after the landslides, and the water has receded immediately on National Highway 4A, allowing traffic to resume normally.
The Civil Defense Command of each commune regularly monitors the situation, updates damage data, and compiles reports as required.
