After a two-month traffic ban in Hanoi to facilitate repairs and upgrades to the two-wheeled vehicle lanes of the Long Bien Bridge and other projects, the bridge reopened to the public at 0:00 AM this morning (May 28).
Allowing the Long Bien Bridge to reopen not only alleviates some of the traffic pressure on the Chuong Duong Bridge downstream of the Red River, but also shortens travel time and facilitates easier commuting for the people.
This morning, people were seen traveling across Long Bien Bridge. The reopening of this historic bridge not only makes travel more convenient for people but also helps to alleviate traffic pressure on Chuong Duong Bridge during peak hours.

Long Bien Bridge (Hanoi) officially reopened to traffic after two months of repairs.
According to observations, the appearance of Long Bien Bridge has changed significantly after the recent repairs. The section of the bridge intended for motorcycles has had its old, deteriorated concrete layer removed and replaced with a new, smoother concrete layer. Many areas with peeling and uneven surfaces have been uniformly addressed. The railings, steel slabs, and pedestrian walkways on both sides of the bridge have also been repaired and reinforced to ensure the safety of people and vehicles.
Over the past 60 days, construction units have organized multiple work teams operating continuously day and night to complete the repairs on schedule. This repair work is also aimed at ensuring the safety of the Hanoi - Dong Dang railway line on Long Bien Bridge.
Following this repair, not only have traffic conditions improved, but the lifespan of the Long Bien Bridge has also been extended, contributing to the safety of both road and rail traffic. After the repair work, traffic management plans will continue to be studied and adjusted to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow at the eastern gateway of the capital.
