Leading the way in the movements

Mr. Chau Onh plays a crucial role in coordinating efforts between the People's Committee of To Ha hamlet and various organizations. In 2025, he and the People's Committee organized a meeting with residents to encourage land donations and contributions of labor to build rural roads. Thanks to this coordination, many projects were quickly completed and put into use, including the construction of Road No. 1 connecting Roads No. 2 and 3, approximately 300m long and 3.5m wide; and the concreting of Chanh 4 village road, 120m long. In addition, they constructed a road next to Kok Treng pagoda, 120m long, and collaborated with the Tri Ton Commune Youth Union to install 6 solar-powered streetlights, costing 18 million VND.

Through his prestige and exemplary conduct, Mr. Chau Onh helped the people understand the benefits of the projects, thereby gaining their consensus and active participation. He has been repeatedly commended by the local authorities for his achievements in the new rural development and civilized urban development movements. Mr. Chau Onh shared: “To mobilize the people, I must lead by example. If I can do things for the people, they will trust me and be willing to cooperate. The strength of unity among the Khmer people is always the decisive factor in the success of any movement.”

Along with Mr. Chau Onh, Mr. Chau Van Ny is a prime example of a respected figure in the local poverty reduction movement. Mr. Chau Van Ny, together with the local government, has helped many families achieve a more stable life. In 2025, he coordinated with the People's Committee and the Front Committee of Hamlet 4 to support 26 households in obtaining loans from the Social Policy Bank, totaling over 660 million VND; and mobilized 14 million VND for the spring tree planting fund. In addition, Mr. Chau Van Ny mobilized and participated in the construction of 14 houses for poor, near-poor, and policy beneficiary households; and donated 352 gifts to households in difficult circumstances, costing nearly 120 million VND.

Mr. Chau Van Ny's contributions have borne fruit. To date, the entire hamlet has only 5 poor households and 38 near-poor households. Mr. Ny shared: "I want to support as many households as possible so that people have the opportunity to develop their economy . When their lives are stable, they will actively participate in the commune's movements."

Spreading exemplary role models

Besides the two exemplary individuals mentioned above, Tri Ton commune currently has 17 other respected and trusted individuals. For example, Mr. Trang Quoc Binh, residing in Hamlet 2, is a model in disseminating policies and guidelines, promoting civilized lifestyles, and preserving national cultural identity; Mr. Thach Dien, residing in An Loc Hamlet, actively encourages residents to plant flowers, maintain environmental hygiene, build green, clean, and beautiful landscapes, and participate in self-governing models…

Reputable individuals in Tri Ton commune serve as a "bridge" between the government and the people, and are at the forefront of promoting cultural life, economic development, and maintaining security and order. Notable movements include: protecting the environment and landscape; preserving Khmer cultural identity and civilized lifestyle; preventing and combating crime and social vices; promoting production transformation, poverty reduction, and socio-economic development... This coordination creates a "glue" that binds the community together, helping the movements to deepen and achieve lasting results.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tri Ton commune, Nguyen Hoai An, stated: “Influential individuals have a very important voice. They convey the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws sincerely and approachably, creating a strong ripple effect, contributing to maintaining security and order and promoting local socio-economic development. We will promptly reward them to encourage this core force. At the same time, we will create conditions for them to participate more deeply in disseminating ethnic policies, mobilizing production transformation, and maintaining security and order.”

With their dedication, responsibility, and credibility, respected figures within the Khmer community are becoming a pioneering force, making significant contributions to the goal of building Tri Ton commune into an increasingly developed, civilized, and culturally rich community. At the same time, they are key to fostering consensus, unity, and sustainable development for the community.
