According to the VNA special correspondent, within the framework of the State visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, on the afternoon of July 11, in Vientiane, President To Lam received the Chairman of the Lao-Vietnam Friendship Association, Boviengkham Vongdala, and other members of the Association's leadership.

Thanking the President for taking the time to receive him, the Chairman of the Friendship Association, Boviengkham Vongdala, expressed his joy and honor at meeting President To Lam during his first overseas trip to Laos; and congratulated the President on being elected to his new position by the Vietnamese National Assembly .
Sharing information about the Association's activities in the recent past, Comrade Boviengkham Vongdala said that the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association has a very close relationship with the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association. The two sides have coordinated many practical activities, contributing to consolidating and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
Comrade Boviengkham Vongdala pledged to continue working with the leadership of the Association to further promote friendship, solidarity, and people-to-people exchanges, with the determination to protect and preserve the special relationship between the two nations as "the apple of his eye."

Speaking at the meeting, the President expressed his pleasure at undertaking his first State visit in his new capacity to the beautiful and hospitable country of Laos, witnessing the outstanding achievements of Laos and meeting again with close comrades, friends, and brothers of the Vietnamese people.
The President emphasized that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos are increasingly strengthened and developed extensively in all fields—politics, defense, security, economy, education, culture, and social affairs—bringing tangible results for the benefit of the people of both countries.
Expressing gratitude for the sincere sentiments and heartfelt assistance of the Party, State, and people of our brotherly country Laos, the President affirmed that Vietnam consistently prioritizes the consolidation and nurturing of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The President highly appreciated the role of the Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association, Boviengkham Vongdala, for his positive contributions in educating, disseminating information, promoting people-to-people exchanges, and raising awareness among the people of both countries, especially the younger generation, about continuously strengthening and nurturing the special friendship between the two nations.
The President also requested the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association to continue coordinating with relevant Lao agencies to provide assistance and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese expatriates, including the Vietnamese community in Laos, to live and work in Laos, and actively contribute to building a more prosperous Laos.
The President emphasized that the two Friendship Associations of Vietnam and Laos, and Laos and Vietnam, have great strength and a very important role in consolidating and strengthening the special friendship between the two countries, and expressed hope that they will continue to be an important bridge for the ever-lasting and enduring friendship between the Vietnamese and Lao peoples.
