Four provinces in Southern Laos congratulate Vietnam on its National Day.

On September 3rd, the leaders of Gia Lai province held a meeting and working session with a delegation from the Southern provinces of Laos. The delegations were visiting Gia Lai province to participate in activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This visit contributed to strengthening and promoting friendly relations and cooperative development with the four Southern provinces of Laos: Attapeu, Champasak, Sekong, and Salavan.

During the meeting, the Deputy Secretary of the Khambunu Provincial Party Committee, Duangphabang of Attapeu Province, extended his best wishes to the Party Committee, government, and people of Gia Lai Province on the important occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Mr. Khambun Duongphabang wished that the friendly relations and cooperation between Attapeu and Gia Lai provinces, as well as the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States, and peoples of Laos and Vietnam, and Vietnam and Laos, would continue to flourish.

Also at the meeting, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Deputy Governor of Salavan Province, Padromphon Sonthani, expressed his deep gratitude and thanks to Gia Lai Province for its cooperation, constant attention, support, and assistance in contributing to the construction and development of Salavan Province.

Mr. Padromon Sonthani expressed his hope that Gia Lai province would continue to support, assist, and cooperate with Salavan province in implementing the cooperation contents between the two sides, achieving even greater successes. He wished that the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, and between Salavan and Gia Lai provinces, would forever flourish and endure.

Receiving the delegations, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh expressed sincere gratitude to the Lao Party and State, and to the Party Committee, Government, generations of leaders, and all the people of the fraternal Southern Lao provinces for their trust, concern, companionship, and support for Gia Lai province throughout the past period of cooperation and development.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh expressed his belief that the special friendship and solidarity between Gia Lai province and the southern provinces of Laos will continue to flourish, allowing the people of these localities to proudly write new and increasingly bright chapters in the history of friendly relations and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, as well as between Gia Lai province and the southern provinces of Laos.

Over the years, Gia Lai province and Binh Dinh province (before the merger) have consistently maintained, strengthened, and promoted friendly relations and cooperative development with the four southern Lao provinces of Attapeu, Champasak, Sekong, and Salavan. The two sides regularly organize exchange activities, visits, and greetings during national holidays and festivals. They have also signed numerous cooperation agreements covering comprehensive areas across various fields.

From 2021 to the present, the two sides have coordinated the implementation of cooperation programs according to the Memorandums of Cooperation for the period 2021-2025 and achieved several important results such as: In education and training, Gia Lai has granted 235 scholarships to students from 4 southern provinces of Laos to study at universities and colleges in the province. Currently, there are more than 120 Lao students studying in the province.

In particular, the former Binh Dinh province provided 60 billion VND to four southern Lao provinces (15 billion VND each) to build friendship projects. These results have affirmed the correct policy and direction in comprehensive cooperation and development between Gia Lai province and the southern Lao provinces.
