According to ACV, in preparation for the test flight landing at Long Thanh Airport on December 19th, contractors working on Component 3 – essential airport facilities – of the Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1 are currently focusing their efforts and mobilizing maximum manpower and machinery. Currently, contractors are deploying over 15,000 personnel and 3,000 pieces of machinery working day and night on the project site, prioritizing key items such as runway 1; taxiways and aircraft parking areas; and passenger terminal equipment installation. Thus, compared to the beginning of November 2025, the workforce serving Component 3 has increased by more than 1,000 personnel.

Regarding runway number 1, which is scheduled to receive a test flight on December 19th, contractors are focusing on completing surface drainage channels, anti-slip coatings, expansion joint sealing, line painting, and general cleaning. On the evening of December 11th, the entire aviation lighting and signage system on runway number 1 was successfully operational and functioning stably. Simultaneously, units have switched on the airfield's medium-voltage power supply to provide power to the In-Land Navigation System (ILS/DME) and the Automatic Weather Observation System (AWOS).

Regarding the passenger terminal project, contractors have basically completed the construction, installation of glass walls and steel structures; and are now rushing to install equipment. For the jet bridge system, 26 sets of jet bridges have been transported to the construction site (out of 64 sets for the entire terminal), and 16 sets are currently being erected. For the baggage screening system, 53 out of 57 checked baggage screening devices and 145 out of 256 carry-on baggage screening devices have been transported to the construction site; the screening machines and security screening equipment are currently being installed. For the aircraft docking system, 100 VDGS (vehicle guidance systems) have been transported to the construction site (reaching nearly 80%), and contractors are urgently constructing the support structures and installing equipment at various gate locations. Simultaneously, they are accelerating the installation and completion of the baggage handling system; escalators, staircases; and elevators.

The aircraft parking apron project has completed the drainage system and the basement for ground service equipment; the ground structure is basically complete, and the cement concrete layer is under construction. For the connecting road, the contractor is urgently planting trees and installing lighting and signage.
