According to observations on December 13th, the rice market in the Mekong Delta region did not experience significant price fluctuations. Transactions were slow due to limited supply, leading farmers to maintain prices while traders were more cautious in their purchasing.
Domestic rice prices remain unchanged.
In localities such as An Giang , Lap Vo, Sa Dec, and An Cu (Dong Thap), the amount of rice arriving at markets is not large, causing slow trading activity. Fragrant rice varieties continue to maintain high prices, reflecting stable demand from quality orders.

In the retail market, rice prices have not seen significant changes. Nang Nhen rice remains the highest at around 28,000 VND/kg. Popular fragrant rice varieties range from 20,000 to 22,000 VND/kg, while common white rice and Soc rice usually maintain around 16,000 to 17,000 VND/kg.
The export market is stable.
On the world market, the price of Vietnamese rice exports remained stable on December 13th. According to the Vietnam Food Association, the selling prices of major commodities are as follows:
- Fragrant rice with 5% broken grains: 420 – 440 USD/ton
- Jasmine rice: 447 – 451 USD/ton
- 100% broken rice: 314 – 318 USD/ton
The lack of significant fluctuations in export prices reflects the cautious market sentiment as year-end transactions slow down. However, Vietnamese fragrant rice varieties maintain their competitive advantage thanks to consistent quality. Experts predict that rice prices will remain stable in the short term, supported by sufficient domestic supply and the stability of the high-quality rice segment.
