Attendees included Mr. Daniel Herrmann, Head of Climate Policy, German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ Vietnam); Mr. Markus Spitzbart, Project Manager of the Urban Solid Waste Management Enhancement Project in ASEAN Countries, GIZ Vietnam; representatives from the Department of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ; and leaders and representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and other relevant units of Lam Dong province.
The German Development Cooperation Organization (GIZ) is a federal enterprise that supports the German government in achieving its goals of international cooperation and sustainable development.
GIZ operates across multiple sectors, collaborating with partners in strategy development and policy implementation.
In Vietnam, GIZ focuses on priority areas such as vocational training, environment, energy, and sustainable economic development.

The ASEAN Urban Solid Waste Management Enhancement Project (AMUSE) is implemented by GIZ in collaboration with partners in four countries: Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The project aims to support countries in building and developing opportunities for cooperation, exchange of experience, knowledge transfer, and capacity building; and to promote the participation of the private sector, especially the tourism industry, in waste management solutions at the national and local levels.
AMUSE also aims to build and apply a circular economy model, such as waste sorting and recycling at pilot sites with the participation of businesses.

In Vietnam, the project is being piloted in the area of the former Da Lat city, currently encompassing Xuan Huong, Cam Ly, and Xuan Truong wards in Lam Dong province.
Over the course of more than two years, the project has carried out numerous activities to raise awareness and improve skills for various target groups, aiming to optimize the management of household solid waste at source in Da Lat. The project is expected to conclude at the end of December 2025.

The program also consulted delegates on the possibility of replicating the pilot models in Lam Dong in the future.
On the same day, delegates visited several pilot sites of the project in the wards of Da Lat.
